As soon as someone "settles down", they turn into a boring blobcreature. It's understandable and makes sense - at the point where you're settling down you have a career, probably some savings, a relationship you worked hard to build, a lot of possessions, maybe a house, that you worked hard to get... When you're in that comfortable position most people stop seeking out new things or taking risks.

When you're young and/or alone and free you have the space to take risks and the time to dive into new things, new hobbies, new knowledge, new experiences.

Not everyone will turn out this way, but I can see why the uniblob lifestyle can become very tempting once you settle down.
