Buy 2600k in 2011

>Buy 2600k in 2011
>Overclock to 4.7GHz
>8 years later and it is still fast enough for pretty much everything including AAA vidya

Best tech purchase I've ever made

I'm still using my 2007 vintage q6600 and since I don't play games it is ok

i mean, to run facebook and shitpost here, that is good enough for at least next 6 years.

For anything demanding it was not good even 7 years ago.

>60 Hz gaming in 2019
Embarrassing

>All these intel cope threads today

Itzhak, please.

>buy a 2500k in 2011
>"you won't need a 2700k for gayming, user! just get the 2500k"
>8 years later
>overclocked to 4.5
>have to close every single program(including browser) if i want to play a game

biggest mistake of my life

man those chips were overclockable
*crack* *psshhhhh*
those were the days

>No DDR4
>Fuck all cache
>No NVMe
>No UEFI
>Awful perf/power
>Shafted by countless exploit patches

>"Still relevant"

Man, stop justifying you can't afford something better, I have a 3570K at 4.5 and the fucking things chokes like hell on AAA
Nobody buys your lies, save some money and just buy something better, I'm poor as hell and I'm doing this
Much better than trying to justify my shitty system on a thai cartoons imageboard

RIP i7 920 2008-2017

Can someone explain to me why people are freaking out over zombieload and other exploits?
AFAIK they just allow user privileged processes to have certain admin privileges like read other processes memory.

But if actually are trying to make a virus you might as well just ask for admin privileges from the get-go because 95% of desktop users will just press yes to that shit anyway and then you'll be able to do whatever you want on the machine.

genuine question.

>4 threads
>OP has 8 threads and 300mhz over you
Should have listened when we all said 4T would be shit in the future, even Bullslowzer is better than your soggy doritio.
Pretty much, Haslel and Skylake are closer to Sandy than ever.

Zen2 is the new Sandy.

If you run *any* untrusted code, you need to disable HT.
This isn't a huge issue for non-cloud servers, since you know what is running and there will be no unvetted client code running. Whilst none of the consoles are seemingly affected, they too wouldn't have any issues since they only run signed, completely vetted code.

Desktops and Cloud servers though. Disable HT.

no you don't

Eh i'll take 60hz over 16:9 garbage any day

why is that crab so violent

>Buy 4690K in 2014 after my 2500k got fried
>OC to 4.4GHZ
>5 years later it's shit for everything including AAA vidya

In what world is a 4690 shit for vidya?

Swans are just violent people

My world, I can't even run new games at 60 FPS like WH2, Mordhau or BFV, and that's at 1080p

Try reinstalling windows. Also which GPU?

>AAA vidya
Watch a movie, Triple A games are like, 95% cut-scene faggotry and "push (X) rapidly" bullshit anyways.

>nvme
by far the biggest meme atm

Mine is still up and running OC to 3.4Ghz.
Best purchase I made, with an i5 I would have to upgrade wayyy long before.

AMD 3900X HERE I COME!

2500k on 4GHz here. 212 pro meme included.

>core i7 960
>not overclocked
>chugging along like a champ still

>Buy 2500k in 2011
>After 2 years OC it to 4.6Ghz
>Has run perfectly fine ever since
>Pair it with RX480
>enough to run most games decently
It's getting long in the tooth now, but I'll probably get a Zen 2 this year

>have to close every single program(including browser) if i want to play a game
I know that feel. More and more game engines, especially console ports scales up to 6 threads now.
Are you me? but I made the mistake of getting a 2560x1080 monitor. Now the [email protected] rx480 pairing has to drop game settings down to normal to maintain 60fps

>[email protected] Ghz, 980 Ti stock, all games at 1080p max settings, avg fps
Witcher 3 101 DeusX MD 75 MetroLL 81 ROTR 68 Division 141 Fallout 4 111 GTAV 77 BF1 125 bretty gud for 8 yrs old cpu

Are you poor or what

Holy FUCK literally me. 2500k holds up on paper only, real world usage it's usable but extreme worrying. Also 4.6 ghz and the future isn't looking bright.

>DDR4
Explain why I load into every multiplayer game faster than everyone else when I’m still on stock clock DDR3 4770 non-K.
>nvme
lmao

>3820 @ stock voltages reaches 5.2GHz with a cheap AIO
>Still handles AAA gaymes like Witcher 3 >120FPS
LMAO'ing so hard at you all. Gud luck finding 2011 boards tho

>Loading low res models and textures
>Hurr why am I finished before everyone else, must be because my outdated pc is still the best

I think I'll upgrade from my 2500k/GTX670 this year.
Zen2 looks great. Shame NVIDIA cards are still overpriced as fuck, but I guess I really need one if I want to play with deep learning.

>Buy 2700X
>It was already obsolete for 240Hz gaming
god fucking damn it I fell for the ryzen meme

Did you ME_Cleaner however?

>He doesn't add the DXE module into his BIOS to support NVMe booting

Shiggy Diggy

Also, 7 series chipset motherboards ARE UEFI.
