Intel have redefined what "IPC" means to them after failing to actually increase IPC for several generations.

They no-longer mean instructions per clock, but instructions per second. Which they raise by increasing clock speeds.

Unless you're using a server the vulnerabilities don't matter for the average person. No real reason to include them in real world benchmarks. Intel still leads vs. AMD even with the patches...

Intel is definitely focusing on their strengths with ice lake mobile. AMD will probably still have trouble competing in the laptop space. Seems like a good decision focusing the initial 10nm runs there. Maybe late 2020 they can compete on the desktop again.

It's exactly what it lools, like they want to make the difference seem bigger than it is, NVIDIA did it with the GTX 950 by comparing it with the GTX 650 instead of the GTX 750, it's just Jews being Jews.

AVX-512 on a laptop seems stupid and wasteful though. I can see why they would want it to be available everywhere but it can't be an efficient use of die area and power.

AMD is better at doing work more energy efficiently, and the only place where Intel still has any edge in is in idle power consumption (what most laptops do most of the time). Movable workstation and "gaming" type laptops will move over to AMD, while Intel can hold onto ultra mobile and mobile laptop segments for few more years.

They have no 7nm chips on mobile until next year. Running mobile parts and APUs almost a generation behind the desktop chips is becoming a problem.

IceLake-U seems nice, but good luck getting one with reasonable pricing, made even worse by its limited availability. Dell just announced a dual core + 4GB RAM laptop (albeit in a "premium" chassis) for $1000 FFS. Now Intel is going to jew the market even more by justifying it with the Project Athena bullshit. Yeah right, literally pay Intel for the certification that says "yep, this laptop is not shit"

no it's not. Both Vega and Ryzen are extremely good at lower ends of the frequency spectrum.
3700U is only 15W with Vega 10 and 4 core CPU

no real time benchmarks
no security patches
no physical desktop silicon
no sunny cove 10-core or greater coming to desktops this year, and I would be surprised if it even came next year

Getting on a new process 6+ months earlier than the competition is exactly the same advantage AMD has on the desktop right now. We'll see how the availability is though. They might still have very limited production.
