Anyone seeing weird colorshift onscreen when taking screenshot while paused?
Pics related, when I take the screenshot, the mpv changes to the top color but the screenshot actually comes out fine. Once you unpause the video, the color returns to normal.

The culprit seems to be the "video-sync=display-resample" when paired with gpu-api=vulkan mode. I checked the download site to see when exactly this change happened and it looks like starting with the 2019-04-28 build mpv-x86_64-20190428-git-71ad1e2.7z, this weird behavior seems to happen and persists to the latest build.
It probably is but I can't see any error, it's not even consistent. Like one frame the audio is playing just fine and then suddenly the voice disappear. pastebin.com/Gf53QPzx
Sorry, I wasn't clear in my first post. Surely upscaling algorithms for it do exist, but how do they compare in quality with madVR? I compared a mpv setup I found in the Internet with my old madVR setup from Kawaii Codec Pack and the latter looked better when upscaling from shitty resolutions (
Anyone got some good ytdl settings? Currently I use:
ytdl-format=bestvideo[ext=mp4][width
Anthony Sanders
Also, using youtube-dl -f best always gives me a 720p video, even if there is better quality. Not related to mpv, but does anyone know what's the issue here?
Ian Sanchez
All you need to get the best quality is ytdl-format=(bestvideo+bestaudio/best)[protocol!=http_dash_segments]
Dash Segments are very important, literally the only time it messes up is sometimes when there is a 30 and 60 fps version
Carson Evans
Thanks. Looks like youtube doesn't use mp4 for anything above 1080p, instead they use VP9. Not sure if I shouldn't stay with the
Also, the main problem I find here is when youtube-dl can't fetch formats with "-F" from websites that are not youtube. In that case, choosing "-f best" again results in a resolution that's not the highest one. Maybe a better argument is required.
Evan Rogers
Ok, did some more research. For youtube, I suppose it's best to use "-f bestvideo+bestaudio". As for other websites, can't be helped. Most usually have one format available anyway.
Jaxson King
You should put FSRCNNX in front of KrigBilateral, so you can have the proper KrigBilateral activate based on whether chroma's halved or more than halved because of prescaling. Aside from that, I just prefer to put the most important shaders first, so luma->chroma->downscalers, but this is just preference. >Dash Segments are very important What's important about it?
Hunter Torres
No. Fuck svp.
Lucas Hernandez
Do you have ffmpeg installed? youtube-dl can't remux individual streams into one file by itself and will revert to downloading the highest quality all-in-one file.
Charles Price
I do. Check image. The last format is considered the best by youtube-dl. Don't know why. I'll just type in the codes manually or just use "bestvideo+bestaudio" from now on.
Kayden King
I'm a retard. "best" describes the best quality format represented by a single file with video and audio, according to their documentation. See github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/#format-selection The default format selection is -f bestvideo+bestaudio/best
Jacob Brooks
I overlooked that part, too. Thanks. Seems that just using "youtube-dl [URL]" will almost always give the best video/audio available. If not, specifying with "-f bestvideo+bestaudio" will certainly do.
bestvideo+bestaudio/best is the default as shown in the pic here . Just put ffmpeg in your path for sites that keep the audio and video files separate to merge them together. It will do it automatically.

>most trannies aren't white men
Ryan Gomez
That just means the non-tranny white male suicide rate is lower, though only slightly because trannies are a tiny part of the population.
Oliver Watson
> If not, specifying with "-f bestvideo+bestaudio" will certainly do. By default it does just that. -f bestvideo+bestaudio/best means that it downloads the best video and the best audio and combines them and if they are not present (e.g. a site doesn't offer individual streams) then it will download the best overall video instead.

Any way to reload an audio output driver? I want to use exclusive audio for some videos, but doing that while mpv is active will break that second mpv's audio. Even after I've disabled the disabled exclusive audio, I can't get audio working for that second mpv. What's weird is that it doesn't respond to any try to change the audio driver after breaking, but it does before breaking. I'm using wasapi by the way.

Maybe I'm just out of touch as fuck but what makes this better than MPC and the CCCP? I have legit stopped looking for a video player since 2 years ago or so.
David Torres
>CCCP
nothing is better than this you take that in mind
Isaiah Rogers
So then what the fuck is this thread even about?
Jack Wood
>associate program with lgbt >spergs stops using it brilliant.
Jackson Lee
CCCP hasn't been updated in 4 years and the main dev works on mpv now.
Aiden King
not the codec pack
Luis Richardson
>unironically this
Camden Lewis
So do I just replace mpc with mpv and keep using the codec pack or what?
Blake Cooper
You do whatever the fuck you want, we're not the cops.
Charles Phillips
Well sure, but I'm seeking guidance on this.
Kayden Gonzalez
Uninstall mpc and the codec packs. Download mpv.net.
Only if you want unstable programmers with borderline disorder.

How do I get youtube videos to automatically open in mpv?
