What the absolute fuck

Are 1080s forget out of gold or something? Those shits are almost half a decade old by now and still sell for this.

They sell for that amount because the market is willing to pay that amount for it. Maybe stop buying Nvidia cards for a change? Just a thought.

>Maybe stop buying
Difficult when the software you use/have to use needs CUDA support. OpenCL isn't as broadly supported as of now.

Get an OG titan dude, lotsa of cuda cores for cheap.

ebay a used 1080 if you want to feel slightly less sore assed.

>CUDA
/v/, please. If that's the reason you want an Nvidia card, then you wouldn't be bitching about GAMING cards' prices.

>the market is willing to pay that amount for it.
why would the market when the 2070 exists?

The market is full of morons
There is not a single god damn good reason for a late generation GPU to be selling at basically launch price especially on the used market

Nvidia produced way too much pascal stock during the mining boom, were threatening partners with offloading them. Now we've got RTX and they can sell the new shit at inflated prices alongside old pascal cards at the same prices.
As a 1080Ti owner for the last 2 years I'm pretty smug about the long term value prospect considering I wasn't expecting total stagnation after 2017, but damn does AMD need to get their shit together.

gpus aren't going to come back down. engine and game developers had better learn to optimize their rendering stuff for once

The 1080 Ti is better than all cards except the 2080 Ti and RTX Titan.

People bitched at nvidia to release a new gen instead:

>what people wanted: affordable 1080tis
>what they got: lmao here's a card that's 20/30% faster but double the price of a 1080t ayylmao enjoy your new gen nerds

>The 1080 Ti is better than all cards
lolwut

Back to plebbit, fag

when something stops being made the price goes up
surprise

The 2080 is faster than the 1080 Ti across the board, and has RTX features on top of that. Even overclock vs overclock the 2080 is faster in most games, and especially so in newer titles using modern APIs.

There's no scenario where the 2080 Ti is only 20% faster than the 1080 Ti. It's more like 30-50% depending on the game, with the same increased scaling in newer titles using modern APIs. It's 50% faster than the 1080 Ti in Rage 2 for instance, which is a recent Vulkan release. Turing is simply better at handling that and DX12 than Pascal was.

all 1080ti are second hand here, not a single one in a store.

yeah and getting a second hand 1080ti is like buying an already digested cucumber

Stop playing shitty storygame graphical clusterfucks. Anyone paying over $100 for a graphics card is a goddamn idiot.

>Anyone paying over $100 for a graphics card is a goddamn idiot.
Says the neet neckbeard living on gibs who never used his PC for GPU based content creation

>gpu based content creation
You wouldn't get a fucking consumer card for that shit anyway, dumbfuck.

1080 Ti is very good value for performance for CUDA compute (i.e. deep learning shit)

>hey lets just throw out money for some stupid expensive ass Quadro meme while the consumer shit does the job just fine
Idiot

It should be illegal for dumb uneducated little kids to come on the internet and bullshit about things they will never understand.

GeForce cards are gimped on color bit depth for non-game and non-Blu-ray outputs (locked to low bit depth on Photoshop, Premiere, etc.). If you do 3D animation or video and need to get accurate high-bit depth color, and you need Nvidia for some reason, you have to pay the Quadro tax.

You're the best example
