Is it worth upgrading from this? I have a 1080p 144hz monitor.
Is it worth upgrading from this? I have a 1080p 144hz monitor
Given it will probably be just a bios update, yes.
I am also a gayman with the same specs as OP. Is it worth upgrading from a 2600 to a 2700x, assuming prices come down with 3rd gen releasing soon?
I have a msi b450 gaming pro carbon ac you think it will be enough to handle a 3700x ? possible a 3900x ?
I would let other people try first.
>1080p
No. Stop living in poverty and get a 1440p. Why would you buy a 2700X for 1080p?
I can already tell you're an esports fag.
what's your gpu
>unironically using a display with a resolution greater than 640x480
gtx 1080
because it's a lot more expensive to get frames over 60 on triple a games at 1440p
Why buy a top of the line CPU and 144Hz monitor if your goal is 60Hz?
I hate /v/tards.
you should be able to get 120+ fps at 1080p with a 2700x and a gtx 1080 without issues
my specs are worse and I can reach 120 fps 1080p just fine
wtf can't you read ? the guy was roasting me for having a 1080p monitor I told him I can't switch to 1440p because it's a lot more expensive to go beyond 60 frames at the resolution.
No. Cores 7 and 8 are the least used. Just oc it.
>complains 1440p is too expensive
>buys a top of the line CPU aimed primarily towards 1440p
Yeah you're retarded.
I also video edit that's why i went for the 2700x. although i do admit i fucked not getting an i7 8700k because that's actually way better for 4k video editing due to the igpu acceleration that premier pro uses.
Zen2 was not made for Zen+ to upgrade to.
Who the fuck upgrades from one gen to the next?
3000 series are for people with 1000 series at worst, and pre-2016 cpus at best
Nigga just wait for Ryzen 3
Hard to say - wait for Ryzen 3xxx reviews.
If you want to push more frames, buy a real CPU (hint, it's not Ryzen, and not hyperthreaded).
3800X beat the 9700K in PUBG, which was always dominated by Intel. Until now.
This. Wait until Zen 2+ at the earliest.
get the ryzen 7 3700x
its more based than the 2700x
I used 1366 x 768 till few weeks ago.
Unironically, I can't see myself going back. Productivity skyrocketed.
Buy a better GPU then. They do all the work in video games. I have a 5 YEAR OLD i7 non over clock able 4790 and it plays most AAA games at 1440p 144fps because I put a 1080ti in it.
