Install LTSC instead (and make sure to turn off or down all spyware during install). I only ever use it in a virtual machine but I can already tell that it at least sells less user data because of start menu has no ads or anything by default. IIRC it also doesn't have UWP so it won't literally FORCE you to download Candy Crush.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a way to change the servers the OS connects to remotely that is buried so fucking deep in this labrynthian piece of shit OS that you will never find out how to stop it. A few days ago a folder in my winsxs ran an exe that upon searching has to do with updates (I have updates off). Of course, winsxs is one of the worst folders in Windows: folders in winsxs are seemingly randomly named to a regular user and there are many folders with the same-named exe, so who knows what the fuck it was?

after 3 hours of using windows 10, i can safely say this is not a production ready OS. high dpi scaling does not work nearly as well as it does on 7 and 8. like, it's a whole different fucking world of garbage. 70% of programs are blurred to shit OOTB, and you still have to disable scaling for each individually. of-course there's no global option! of-course!
cleartype is somehow less effective than in 7 and 8. highly fragmented settings. more fragmented than any other release of windows. privacy concerns out the wazoo, and many of them cannot be mitigated. this is truly a trash OS for trash people.

Every single lignux and bsd distribution I've used is miles ahead of windows 10 in terms of performance, security, ui coherence, and configurability. Mac os 9 is better. BeOS is better. Haiku is better. Windows xp-8.1 is better. There is nothing worse than win 10. I'm literally going to shit all over the floor and Kill myself. I have never been more disgusted with a piece of software. Using it was a living hell that I only wish on my worst of enemies. They employ hundreds of thousands of people across the globe and can't fucking release a proper OS.
I've been using lignux for years. I dual boot because windows is necessary for many work situations. I also have a macbook so I can do macshit with my macshit clients. Nothing but massive changes to the entire OS, and I mean massive, will ever make me try 10 again. Windows has truly surpassed all other operating systems as the biggest shit heap of them all.

I work for a multi-billion dollar company and everyone here uses windows 10 pro with office 365 subscriptions. All designers, engineers, developers, management staffs and communication people use Windows 10. Even the watchmen and janitors use Windows 10 to monitor cctv and control generators and automated security systems. Only linux machines we have here are five different servers.

A lot of people do not want or need this feel, or MS raping their data in order to get it. Everyone I work with uses either dropbox or box, and they sync great. Linux can also use dropbox and box. And then there's nextcloud, which is going to be on that level soon. Linux has its perks? Are you joking. Linux is pretty much required for all large cross platform development projects, and an absolute necessity if you're running big and frequently accessed servers that need to be on 24/7.
Windows 10 does the sync by itself, no need for 3rd party unsecured applications. It syncs the whole OS settings, themes, opened and recently closed files, Office files and documents and if you use onedrive, it also syncs all the files in it. You can also use your home or office computers from other machines through office 365.

While I agree that most people use their device to browse fagbook and instagram, it really doesn't matter to them which OS they use, but the time they have to use anything better than paint and wordpad, they will ask for Windows. Not linux. Even if you trick them to use linux and softwares similar to photoshop or word, they will ultimately go back to windows.

you have to download a third party program to disable WAASMEDICSVC (windows as a service medic) otherwise windows will re-enable those things in the background like an out-of-control woman gaslighting you by slowly enabling all of the telemtry back while you don't notice
you can flip the switch that says 'do not download windows updates' but they implemented a secret un-disableable service that supercedes the administrator that enables them a couple of days later. i'm not kidding.
My company gives me free office 365 account for both office and personal use. There is no need.

our work computers have windows 8 and everyone just gets really mad at them because it does things they don't understand even though they know how to use a computer. nobody knows how to log into the windows 10 laptop because they can't figure out how to switch the user and log in because the interface is unclear

this is literally what unix was invented to do my friend and microsoft re-invented a wheel that existing computer systems have been able to do since 1968 soley to sell you a solution to a problem that microsoft made with a program specially designed to steal as much data and telemetry is possible
