If wikipedia had the same stance against things like google and the like then perhaps that would've never gotten popular either.
Then it's popular afterwards. But they don't retroactively change their decision because it wasn't popular before.
It's similar to the idea of Jow Forums changing its rules because everyone is complaining. But in the new rules no one can complain. But if they acted as if that's so then they'd have to remove most all of their rules. Because no one would've complained about it.
Also there's no alternative to the wikipedia articles and stuff.
So I just think that we should at least try to have things go in a good direction.
