im too much of a brainlet to get into flutter
where should i start?

Fluttered and shypilled

Do you know React? It's the same shit, except instead of XML you have to use this abhorrent code to draw some squares.
At least the styling is more concise than CSS, I'll give you that.

they don't have a visual editor yet?

Pick one of the Udemy courses and pirate it.

I'm staying on React-land, I can't go back to OOP fuckery.

You can divide the code into multiple parts, you know?

Dear Google employee,
Could you please do the needful and make this into a Dart/Flutter, or as I like to call it, Dart + Flutter, thread in the future?
Thank you for your time,
user

I hate myself for understanding this.

Dear Microsoft/Facebook employee,

Could you kindly stop shitting up our threads?

Yours truly,
Google Employee

I've made 3 apps in flutter, coding the UI is nice and fucking fast, and there are lots of plugins (packages) available. My only fear is a future package dependency hell.

UI design is far more flexible than Xamarin or Nativescript, but "codebehind" logic is dirtier.

For serious and/or big projects I think Xamarin is a better solution. But I'm not so "pro" in mobile dev so, take this with a grain of salt.

What's that? From the pic it looks like Facebook with gdrive.

It's a framework for writing cross-platform mobile apps. Soon, you will also be able to run the same apps on your desktop and browser too.

Based

Dear Google employee,
First of all, thank you very much for the swift (You). It is much appreciated as I am on a tight schedule.
Unfortunately, I am unable to comply with your request as I am merely doing my job.
I do, however, hope you keep my question in mind next time you create this thread.
Love,
Microsoft intern

P.S.: love Dart, but I wish it was a compiled language. Distributing my application along with the SDK is very inconvenient!

maybe she's on the old version of the sdk user, no need to bully her

>but I wish it was a compiled language
........but it is. The Dart VM is only used when you're debugging your stuff.

>doomed guis
Now you know where the logo comes from

I made a simple command line utility with Dart, please instruct me on how to get it into an executable format. I could not find anything in the documentation on this.

github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/36915
Unless I'm misunderstanding, looks like I was correct.

Dart programs can be compiled into native x64/ARM/whatever machine code, but it still needs the runtime library to execute. So, while the code is compiled natively, everything is not being linked together to make a one huge standalone executable. It doesn't sound impossible to me, but I have no experience of doing it myself.

And for the record, same is usually true for languages like C/C++. Executing C++ programs usually requires that your operating system comes with some runtime libraries.

>Dart programs can be compiled into native x64/ARM/whatever machine code
Ok, how do I do this?

dart.dev/tools/dart2aot

If I want to ship that to users, what will the users need to install? The whole SDK?

I think you would only have to include the runtime.

It's has the most potential of all of the crossplatform options out there today, but I'm still cautious with depending on google for anything these days. They have an established track record of abandoning projects on a whim.

>visual editor
No need. Your "visual editor" is the code running life. You make a change to your code, you save, it updates.

Google kills services, not technologies.

Can someone please tell me why this is better than HTML / CSS...looks like complete shit

>HTML / CSS
Those are for websites, not apps. Also, you can't use HTML to write complex logic for your project. With Flutter and Dart, everything is written with the same language.

Weeping

I want too, I have a nice project in mind, and I couldn't give a flying fuck about mobile development, so this could save me a lot of time (I don't have issues with the backend) so udemy is the way to go? I'm old fashioned, isnt there any books?

Read the docs, they have good example projects

You plan to make a desktop app? Bear in mind that that the desktop support is still in pre-beta phase. If you go through several hoops, you can can test it out, but the APIs are still work in progress, and you won't be able to build a standalone desktop executable as easily as an android or ios app. Getting Flutter more production ready on desktop and web are some of the stated goals for the dev team in 2019.

>With Flutter and Dart, everything is written with the same language.
wait I think I have heard this before.. Oh right nodejs.

nono, just mobile I need an admin, but I'll probably use django default admin

I loved writing my mobile app using Flutter, however its single threaded model is retarded

Oh, okay. I misunderstood.

Why? What's wrong with isolates?

Nah, thanks. JavaFX can compile to native now, don't need that Dart garbage.

Name a single good thing made with JavaFX.

Bitwig

in this case wouldn't it be easier to do an array with condition + error message and loop through it?

modern processors have 5000+ cores, why not use them efficiently, and I do understand that it will add a significant amount of complexity

>realtime audio
>java
lmao

Fucking retard. Only the GUI is written in Java.

We miss you. Please come back.

>gui
>in Java
lmao

nice argument. It's still better than Flutter.

Not ready for web or desktop.

I bet it looks less shit with lisp, ml or haskell bindings

Why bother when Blazor exist?

Where's barneyfag when you need him?

let me summon him

REMINDER: 17 episodes left and you pieces of shit finally fucking die forever.

die

Attached: Bronies, this is your mindset.png (307x157, 28K)

And then what'll you do? Your whole purpose will be gone as well.

>REMINDER: 17 episodes left
I cant stop but ponder how do you know that. It is a very intimate knowledge here.

>XML
>draw squares
Even though react is shit, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Enlighten me, what's wrong with that in green text?

If these niggers were able to learn how to use Flutter, you have no excuse.
youtu.be/2KBjoy_XHBw

Honestly sick of all google shit.

flutter.dev/
front page of their website has a phone and it cuts off the designs and shit
retarded
dropped

Will they replace Dart with Kotlin? Dart is just awful.

I'm going to blow your mind user, you better sit down. These are actually just some images google put on their website, not photos of Flutter apps running on actual phones. Amazing, right?

flutter.dev/docs/resources/faq#why-did-flutter-choose-to-use-dart

Kotlin is a dead language. It will not be supported in Fuchsia.

nope, looks like shit.

If the Fuschia release do not support the legacy Android have built after all those years, it will be dead on arrival.

It's nice but React Native is better desu.
Dart is kinda ugly too.

Kottlin has all those advantages as well.

what the fuck is wrong with modern devs

Kotlin doesn't have it's own VM.

Then why didn't Google made a VM for it?

Because when you really look into it, Kotlin is basically just Java.

>Kotlin is basically just Java
Kotlin is anything but Java

>Kotlin is designed to interoperate fully withJava, and theJVMversion of itsstandard librarydepends on theJava Class Library

>more one-itis app cancer

No thanks, electron's bad enough

What is kotlin/native?

XML is a markup language, it doesn't draw squares. You need a browser or some other document viewer to draw squares, and additionally a language like CSS to define things like height, width, border color etc.

Looks like a Discord clone. Where's my customizable, lightweight chat client? It's literally 2019.

>visual editor
fucking kill yourself

Fluffer?

Fluffy tail!

IRC?

Dead.

How is it dead if Google going koltin-first for android dev?

Because Fuchsia is going to replace Android.

Found today's retard

Source?

gluonhq.com/a-boost-for-java-on-the-client/

I mean why bother to move developer community to a whole another language if it will be ubandoned soon after?

more of a moonfag myself

Show me a mobile app that has been made with JavaFX.

No - I'm not a gigantic faggot like yourself.

Gluon used to use robovm for compiling to ios at some point but robovm is not developed anymore.
How do they do it now days?
