both are shit

apple didnt do it first
razer did a fucking decade ago

stay mad, apple sucks

>both touchbar AND function keys
holy shit how based

>Jow Forums likes one thing but not something else that's significantly different
woah

why are you even on this board with your shoe box sizing label iq

iTODDLERS BTFO'D

Attached: 1558460184866.gif (500x491, 376K)

How fucking retarded are you? They are completely different things.

>comparing an emoji bar to a secondary screen
itoddlers i tells ya

Who cares?

Wtf is up with that numpad?

god the battery must be nonexistant on those things

>apple puts useless touchbar onto their laptops that no one gives a shit about
>asus decides to just put an actual screen, which people would actually care about
itoddlers... yikes...

Clearly capacitive. If it can change its layout arbitrarily (e.g. if the pattern is really just an e-ink layer), then honestly that's pretty nice, provided you don't work in accounting or something. But this laptop clearly isn't aimed at accountants.

Probably OLED. I'm also pretty sure it works as a trackpad when you don't have an external mouse plugged in.

Fuck off newfag. Jow Forums only likes Thinkpads

Apple removed a useful row of keys to input a feature no one asked for and with barely any use. Asus kept the entire keyboard and added a secondary screen. They're not the same, what Asus did is actually useful.

I can't wait to install Linux on this thing and have a fucking awesome setup on that bottom screen.

based

how will they ever recover?

why would you need this?

>portable work station
you can't change battery/looks flimsy
>has another screen
plug it into a monitor

Probably E ink.

There's another Asus line where the mousepad is actually a smaller oled screen, so if they went full retard they could put 4 screens i to this thing mainscreen, smaller screen, numpad, mousepad. Because muh innovation, muh courage.

Why are Applel products so prone to explosions?

Attached: 1556666091965.png (799x845, 632K)

>remove function row and swaps in a shitty touchbar
>add an entire fucking screen and still keep the function row

i still hate the asus laptop since its really retarded in terms of battery but its a better fashion accessory than applleel

Fuck off retard

I mean, at least you could use the screen as a screen, so it's potentially useful.

I suck apple dick and even I think the touchbar is shit and they should get rid of it. This thing is more niche, but actually works for what it's designed for, communication while gaming. That marketing photo makes no sense though.

this.
Apple is just a smiley bar but both sucks tho.

asus still has function and escape keys

you really like this pedo drawing in particular, don't you?

Satania is in middle school I think

>WOW, I have to tilt my head down EVER MORE to see tiny as fuck windows. THANKS ASUS!
Said nobody

Its a neat place for a terminal and media player

>pedo drawing
Stop projecting you sick fuck

its not even pedo LOL

I guess you're right, I've never heard anyone use the phrase "I have to tilt my head down ever more." At least not since the 1840s, and that was just in some Bronte shit.

Why do hardware companies that DON'T make their own software bother with gimmicks like this?
Nobody's gonna support that shit, it will have no special features or smart integration with the OS and software, and soon enough it will be a useless battery drain displaying just the background.

I mean Windows struggled even with simple multiple monitor support, and Asus expects them to bother supporting non standard sized (and ratio) monitor, used in non-standard ways? Do they think userland software developers will even bother for fucking SNSV?

>both are hot ass and OP is a faggot
Ftfy

But literally no one on Jow Forums even likes the snsv shit version. Hell, I catch shit all the time for liking my snsv laptop that doesn't even have any gimmick features just because Jow Forums hates the brand in general.

Smells like another applel shill to me.

Yet ASUS has escape and F-keys. Oh.
I definitely would be use ASUS, while MacBook will make me mad.

Guaranteed some Linux cuck will develop a system monitor app for it

Chink cells.
Even fucking Acer uses Murata (Sony) battery cells made in Japan. Lenovo used Sanyo batteries quite a lot, made in Japan too.

/thread
the asus will give you rsi and hunchback instead, sounds much better

Not really. On macbook you have to look on that screen, while Asus has full keyboard + hinges that lift that thing.

And yeah, MacBook are pretty bad when it comes to RSI too. That aluminium edge is razor sharp which makes you to fold hands unnaturaly.

iFaggots BTFO

>SNSV
lmao

That is what 20 year old me was always dreaming of for digital music production. Too bad I gave it up to study neuroscience

>Yet ASUS has escape and F-keys. Oh.
(You) call that an escape key?

Attached: t420_tastatur1_02.jpg (1280x960, 534K)

>implying there is any other choice for ibabies

They're actually working with Corel to try to get something useful out of it.

>asus keeps function keys
See how they didn't take away a feature to add a feature?

>>Jow Forums makes fun of Apple
>iToddlers seethe

>another " Jow Forums is one person " thread

Could have something to do with the fact that Asus added a screen to the base in addition to a full keyboard rather than adding a screen to the keyboard itself. Just a hunch. Also let's not forget that Asus's version actually works as a monitor.

That is an ESC compared to this

touchbat != touchscreen
one require you take ur eyes off

>Far field Cortana and Alexa

>IR camera
>Hands-free login with face unlock
>Enjoy hands-free login on your laptop, using the infrared camera with Windows Hello to login with just a glance — even in the dark!

the point is that it's literally a 2nd screen whereas the apple touchbar is not.

They should have made it like this.
I would really appreciate mechanics besides that construction

Attached: Untitledo.gif (500x500, 10K)

touchbar has no real functionality
asus' bar does.

Attached: Untitledi.gif (500x500, 14K)

>Chink cells.
Wait, are you telling me that the 15" mbpro I paid premium dollar for uses fucking chink batteries?

Yes. It uses battery made in Shenzhen.
>Apple has reportedly changed its battery suppliers for the iPad and MacBook lines to Amperex Technology Limited and Tianjin Lishen Battery, both Chinese firms, after Samsung SDI (Samsung’s battery-producing subsidiary) stopped supplying Apple, the China Business News reports. If accurate, this would be just the latest in a series of rifts between the two companies.

Attached: china.jpg (1600x1200, 253K)

That's a good idea for structural rigidity.
However it's a bad idea because the distance from the hinge till the monitor increases as it unfolds.
Maybe if there were some kind of hydraulic extendors, but that would be more costly and more moving parts = more chances to break.

Attached: 1559357656138.gif (936x483, 5K)

Wait. Those ones are Taiwanese.

Attached: JDrgfAWr1UO6RLKu.jpg (1600x1200, 298K)

But it says apple Japan on that image. Or is it the CMOS battery that's Chinkshit?

That is certification or something.
Cells are made by Simplo Technology, which are from Taiwan.
Idk, in my MacBook air cells lasted 5 years to 80% capacity, which is OK. But still, china goods have inconsistent quality.
I have no fucking idea why they glue it...

>However it's a bad idea because the distance from the hinge till the monitor increases as it unfolds.
True. So, rails, hinges should be thick, and probably be made from steel.
Sliders don't need hydraulics or gas, simple spring would do.
>192 pix 164 pix
Secondary screen slides too. So, you will have better ventilation (feature, not bug, won't fix), but that would look weird...

What is for sure, I would not buy this laptop due to its pricetag is $2000+'s probably. At least now.

more screens is more screens

apple doesn't make the best computers it just idiot proofs them.

lel, is this a fucking joke?

those are beautiful internals

I must admit they are pretty. However they put form over function, and require service, upsell, or obsolescence over repairability.
Basically, they're as superficial as the people who generally buy them.

Nope, really is an itoddler "escape key"

Intel did it better.
Bottom screen can adjust to a viewable angle. Top screen can be elevated to eye level.

But both put the keyboard in a shitty place and shit on lefties with the trackpad.

Attached: 7A3DBFE8-03E5-4F52-9F3B-5A214A66B887.jpg (580x358, 42K)

are you really this stupid? One is an actual screen you can use for anything (ie your chat application of choice, reference material, etc) and one has no purpose at all

wtf? tell me this isn't true

>plug it into a monitor
you clearly havent had an actual job. You arent always working at your desk, sometimes youre in meetings or other similar situations in which an external monitor will not be available to you. I wish i had a laptop like this for work.

>no body's going to support that
windows does fine with multiple monitors, this is just a second screen. You can do anything with it you could do with any other small screen.

>shit on lefties
maga 2020

those are big enough to actually be useful though
but FUCK THAT TOUCH NUMPAD NOPE

its a touchpad

i can see that, i'd much rather a real numpad and a trackpoint
this laptop'd be pretty nice for solidworks use, but not without a real numpad

While I hate this decision, I love how it triggers vim users.

Looks flimsy

Saw this at another site. I was stunned. This would solve many ergonomic issues people have with using laptops. The display will mostly be at eyelevel with another to ploy around with.
I'm glad that these new display innovations are here, out of nowhere from 1368-768 to dual 4k with one being a touch screen.

This is really the perfect opportunity to bring back the track point and ditch the trackpad completely.

Touchbar was actually cool, but it comes at the cost of F keys
Touchscreen is gay as fuck

"Gee Bill! How come your mum lets you have TWO screens?"
"Because I want to have twice the SHITGLARE no matter how I setup my laptop"

>t. intcel

Why does it look like it's from the early 2010s design-wise?

The chassis colors and texture looks dated.

>no trackpad
NICE!!!!!!!
>no trackpoint either
wait....what?

>This would solve many ergonomic issues people have with using laptops.

But only if you use it on a desk.
And if you work extended periods on a desk why not get a proper screen, keyboard and mouse and use a dock?

It's the trackpad.
