What's the best audio player for Linux...

What's the best audio player for Linux? I tried to use Rhythmbox cause it looks better than Amarok but it seems to lack the ability to close to the task bar like Amarok does so now I'm wondering if there are better alternatives.

Audacious

mpd

cmus , Stop using gui stuff faggot or switch to winblows, there's no need gui scums in loonix community. -___-

Clementine (or a clementine fork).

Gmusicbrowser.

Both have the feature you desire, and are great. As the first post mentions, audacious is worth looking at too.

mpd + ncmpcpp or cmus if you don't mind the CLI
Clementine if you absolutely need a GUI (It's ugly as sin, though)

Foobar2000 is good if you don't mind oldschool look and running wine for it (or just install from snap).

Also - can anyone recommend a good native replacement for f2k? I mostly care for CD Audio ripping, dynamic range analysis, left-right balance, configurable layout.

Based and tuipilled

MPD+ncmpcpp or Cantata for GUI. If you use Rofi/dmenu there's also mpdmenu which I kinda like.

Audacious if you want simple. mpd if you want the absolute best.

Honestly what advantage does foobar even have? Plugins?

deadbeef is very very very nice. it's basically a native foobar2k but saner and lighter

I'd say plugins and ability to customize the shit out of it. Some people claim that foobar sounds superior to other players due to not having any filtering/eq/etc enabled by default but it always seemed like elitist memeing to me.

Looks fine - might give it a try. Thanks user.

I tried a bunch of different GUI music players on Linux. They were all slow and buggy. All half dozen of them. I tend not to like terminal stuff, but I bit the bullet and tried moc. I never looked back, it's great. Just make sure you use beet to organize your library if you haven't already organized it.

I've tried several and I always go back to clementine.

>le gui bad
why

cmus, IDGAF

down syndrome much

They all sou d exactly the same. Why the fuck would one player sound "better" than another? That'd imply they were either defective or modifying the audio without your knowledge.
