Google is the new Microsoft.
Justice Department may seek to break up Google on antitrust grounds
google is ok as is
>let disney buy every media house under the sun
>let facebook buy whatsapp and other competitors
Theres antitrust in usa?
Hope Google gets broken up like Bell Systems,
Turning one oppressive national monopoly into a family of chummy oppressive regional monopolies?
Breaking up Google won't do a damn thing, what they should do is seek to undermine the business model of displaying advertising on the internet.
Dont forget allowed AT&T and Timewarner merger.
Also, the Sprint/Tmobile merger is the verge of being approved
And it will fail because the judge is biased from the get go... Whoopie.
Anyway fuck breaking up companies it does JACK SHIT
Is it normal to be afraid of what you say about G O O G L E online?
>may
Can we just outright ban posting clickbait
fuck google.
>undermine the business model of displaying advertising on the internet
Found the anti-semite.
the biggest breach of anti-trust laws are in the aviation industry.
>breaking up google won't do a damn thing
Then let's break it up and find out,
That's by design. Strategically important industry.
if they at all have competitors they will no doubt all as well be oligopolies in no time flat.
Now, I don't disagree with you, and would like for advertisement to go away or at the least to be castrated up to its scalp - but to be honest, Not much else to make money off on the internet - you can sell shit, or you can advertise selling shit. This would mean the only thing left would be to sell shit, and selling shit and advertisement are inseparable it seems.
Probably wise lol
why is that a problem though? it'd be a good thing if it was difficult to make money off of stuff on the internet, other than actually selling products.
*laughs while jingling a pocket full of shekels*
fixed.
This is what they want the people to believe.
When this is the reality.
> no link
> paywalled
neck yourself. seriously.
> google is the new microsoft
oh, sweet summer child. google is bigger than microsoft
nytimes.com
> im totally not a shill. no totally not
and apple gets away with all the shit it does?
what would they force them to divest anyway? split youtube off into its own company?
Good, they are very underhanded and use horrible business practices. They also break federal law continually. All the data collection of minors for instance, not caring about accessibility, and lying to congress.
>undermine the business model of displaying advertising on the internet.
They should have strict laws about privacy and tracking. And laws (with death sentences as punishment) against bloat, for the poor disenfranchised minorities and poor third world blah blah.
>Theres antitrust in usa?
Only on paper.
This is why the cheapest of the cheapass jet aircraft are millions of dollars. It's impossible to enter the industry without many hundred of millions to start, and it's impossible to do business without paying many millions per year on various protections.
Exactly. Wouldn't be surprised if what happened was Google forgot to pay someone their hush money, and so now the government """"discovered""""" this monopoly. Or maybe a kike pissed off another kike in the government somewhere, and now here we are. Maybe over some retarded argument about which race's foreskin taste better.
>he doesn't know about dual citizenship Isrealis in congress and the senate, or how APAIC uses lobbying for personal goals outside of the interests of the states and the people
The other user was more correct then you may want to know; though to make it accurate, it would have to be two Isreali hands shaking each other.
They should. Try to completely disassociate from everything Google without using a script blocker. It's literally impossible.
Yes.
But Google/Alphabet doesn't lobby with billions of dollars every year like a lot of other large groups that shouldn't be allowed
Yes.
But they're also 90% military, and exempt under the most retarded regulations and rules for "national security" and shit.
Break the beast up
three cheers
can the Justice Department go after the government or go after the Justice Department itself for having a monopoly on governance and justice?
Remember when they used to go for middle eastern IED mine laying terrorists or jihadi's who flew planes into buildings instead of going for private companies? I really liked the authorities back then.
We have a very different viewpoint of 'what is justice?', oh powers that be.
Regards, a googling, private ownership loving, deep state hating, moderate libertarian.
I think you are a shill. But not a Google shill.
Lol it mus be true "coz I said so". And fairy stories are true, honest (sarcasm).
counter-semite please
words have meanings
>russian controlled governement destroy America's greatest company
Russians shills and their slaves (megatards) will defend this here.
So Gmail keeping tabs on your purchases and invoices to you isn't a violation of the NAP?
Because you said Gmail does that. So I don't recognize your allegation.
>Google/Alphabet doesn't lobby with billions of dollars every year
lmao
I distrust Google completely, but I use their search engine and I use Gmail and I burn half my waking hours on YouTube.
So what am I saying? I'm saying Google is successful because they're successful and I fail to see why they should be broken up.
Google did sell Boston Dynamics, so that means the company isn't pure evil.
So no-talent losers who couldn't create a company even 0.01% as successful as Google want to tear it apart?
>But Google/Alphabet doesn't lobby with billions of dollars every year
Retard or shill?
>Google, Amazon.com Inc. and Facebook Inc. set company records for lobbying spending in 2018 as Washington’s scrutiny of Big Tech intensified.
>Alphabet Inc.’s Google unit spent more than $21 million to influence Washington, according to federal disclosures, in a year when its chief executive officer, Sundar Pichai, made his first appearance before Congress. The search giant, which spent $4.9 million in the last three months of the year, according to a Tuesday filing, beat its previous record of more than $18 million from 2017.
bloomberg.com
This.
'The government' or 'authorities' or however you want to call it is just another business with the fundamental difference that they have a monopoly on violence and operate outside of the laws they impose on other businesses.
Humans should seek to dissolve the medieval idea of 'government' and restructure society in a more peaceful anarchist kind of way. Nobody should have ultimate power.
Its a political investigation because the republican congress felt humiliated when their questioning of Google was posted online.
The law is just an opinion issued at gunpoint.
>"Laws are opinions issued at gunpoint."
I may print that on t-shirts and sell them. Good quote.
DONT BE EVIL
when did the great US of A get infiltrated with Zionists?
Did you make this quote up? Most redpilled thing I've read
Google doesn't actually do anything useful though, the closest they have to any monopoly is YouTube, but I've been using bing for years
I'd bet this is only happening because the President is sick of their information controlling behavior and general shilling and has been for quite some time. Even a genius would be pissed if their face topped image search results for "idiot" for years among everything else. Google deciding that ad blocking isn't going to be allowed anymore on 95% of all browser installations is probably just an opportune moment to justify attacking it.
1930s
BASED AND (literally) REDPILLED
Whenever there is no leader a leader will always step up to try and keep order, without exception. Anarchy can't happen, because some government is inevitable.
However, for the purposes of more comfortable less oppressive day to day living, government and corporate power should be far more decentralized than it is, especially today with such high speed transportation and communications abilities. But that won't happen because centralization of power is a multipolar trap. A centralized government will always outcompete a decentralized one as long as it can hold itself together. So if you want decentralization, you have to wait for the central government to collapse and prepare for invasion from some other government that isn't collapsing at the moment, and then sieze power fast and depose everyone who was part of the problem.
>Anarchy can't happen
The fuck you say nigga...
I'm saying that if too few people outside of the government see the collapse of the government as an opportunity, the people who were inside the government will be the ones to form the new one instead.
Oh, and when I say the government, I mean the government/corporate complex. You don't want google running your country directly, that would be a million time worse.
This is unironically the reason why I want Warren to win 2020. Fuck Google. Fuck Amazon. Fuck Facebook. Fuck monopolies.
Is this because google has reached near total cultural hedgemony over the english speaking internet?
What exactly will breaking up google seek to accomplish?
If google was de-personing people, suppressing conservative viewpoints and forcing leftist propaganda by keeping you in a bubble, why would keep a google spinoff from doing it?
Protip. They won't. American value is purely in these multitrillion exporting giants. Only a literal retard would endanger American exports right now; oh wait trump is president.
This is the dumbest thing I've read all day
Get used to reading it every day, this is how the left will be corralled into loving the tech giants again. Orange man bad.
Google doesn't export anything, it's an information controller. All they sell is several varieties of ad space (some more subtle an insidous than others) so that people, mostly US residents, will behave in the way the advertisers want them to behave, usually in parting with their money.
America's primary export is fundamentally worthless fiat currency, which they can keep on exporting because they can just keep on making it up through fractional reserve lending.
the day we live in anarchy, private property will stop being a thing, simply because there will be NO ONE to impose it, so I say let's do it :)
go read some philosophy/politics books, you retard. this has been known for centuries. it's basic liberal theory.
then let's try it out
Apple isn't shit compared to Google.
Google is copying Microsoft's tactics of EEE but their monopolistic status is more akin to Bell for a number of reasons. We can't continue comparing Google to companies like Microsoft and Apple, because those companies don't post the threat that Google does.
Why break it up when we could nationalize it and fund social security using ad revenue?
>But Google/Alphabet doesn't lobby with billions of dollars every year
You shouldn't be on the internet without a handler.
>China
>Mexico
>Google
No one is safe
Merkel, you are next!
Google fucked up Youtube. They should have never been allowed to buy it.
So what does open source have to do with social media?
xkcd is a moron and can only speak in what he sees on the reddit front page
Merkel is gone.
Of the companies Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Google, Twitter, Microsoft, etc, aka the ones that provide the biggest threats to privacy, which of them has a flagshio product that is 100% FOSS?
I don't understand what he's even trying to communicate with this. That we should have implemented the same fundamentally awful ideas with an open stack instead? Or that using Microsoft Office to disseminate digital information in a potentially less accessible format is the equivalent to giving a handful of companies the ability to control whether or not you can disseminate it in the first place, and who is allowed to consume it?
He's actually making fun of the guy on the right with this, right?
They may not have entirely open stacks, but all of those companies you listed rely on shitloads of free and open-source software nonetheless and are some of the biggest backers of open source projects in general. It's a great way to push development and testing responsibilities on to the community while gaining social brownie points in the process.
