Since Google Chrome may soon be disabling ad blocking extensions, what is a good alternative that isn't trannyfox? I care more about disabling popups and annoying javascript bullshit more than anything

Unironically firefox

Why do you not like firefox user?

Additionally, does anybody know if the API be deprecated in Chromium as well?

gnu icecat

Maybe try something webkit based. It's neither chrome nor firefox based.

Microsoft Edge

Anything from higher tiers on that list

In case you do want to give trannyfox a shot, consider librefox or check out some hardening guides like

Safari has built-in content blocker support

Brave, Bromite (mobile) and Ungoogled Chromium. Iridium also exists but it's not entirely open source. I'd suggest against fireforks

Brave's purpose is to block ads p much and its a Chromium fork so just use that if its what you care about the most in a Browser

>chrome blocks it
>devs make it for manual install

>I care more about disabling popups and annoying javascript bullshit more than anything
Except, apparently, political views and gender identity.

Because the chrome shills have gotten to him so now he feels ashamed to use firefox.

If spyware watchmutt thinks even http is literally hitler, then surely his highly-rated browsers must be good, no?

Finally google is doing something to protect content creators from freeloading scum like OP, adblockers are killing the internet

you can disable javascript with any browser user
go to dev tool advance settings and disable..
firefox is good and stable browser dont fall to Jow Forums memes most of them are false

Is Brave good?

Brave

this, disable the shitty extensions it comes with, and you're golden

i dont know if its good but the whole "you are not the product" advertisement giving me the rage and indicate that is a fucking one big lie..
i cant trust theme mostly because all those secure bullshit they shoving to us..

Kek

Your fucking delusional. People stopped watching television because they could get the same medium WITHOUT the ads via the world wide web. The cretinous advertisers just dragged their shit over too when they saw the first mass exodus. Fuck advertising

Yeah fuck capitalism bro
The government will instead just pay for everything

vivaldi with uBlock and uMatrix
thats what i use

Brave
Finally someone said it. They do have ad replacement as an option, but the default is to block all.
Yes.

No, there are plenty of better Blink browsers.

Do it

If and when I decide I need to buy a product, I go out and buy it. Capitalism allows that. But I don't need people telling me what I need because its the latest new fandangled fizzlebop and I should have one to keep up with the Jones.

Everything that is based on Chromium will be affected by the API changes.
So in the near future you can forget about proper ad-blocking in all of your
>Vivaldi
>Opera
>Brave
>Edge
etc.

Firefox and Firefox forks are the only viable alternatives.

Reminder this board is full of chink shills. Don't use Brave.

Nice Japanese hah! Goddamn viets.

With this in mind, aren't there methods around the ad block removals?

It will be changed in Chromium which means everything upstream (i.e. Chrome) will also suffer,
only solution is to switch to non-chromium based browser

the Safari content blocker is severely limited, it can only run like 50k rules at most. But it is nice in that you can install them on both desktop and mobile

downstream not upstream, i'm retarded

Edge is going Chromium soon.

I actually wonder if this will affect browsers like Vivaldi and Opera that use their own extension engine.

Has no one ever heard of Opera?

use firefox your faggot. theres nothing wrong with it

chink spyware

Ungoogled-chromium will probably evolve into a new project name with alternative methods to implement adblocking.
Firefox is for literal faggots. They are hypocrites, highly immoral, hate free speech, and they make so much money from Alphabet they might as well be a Google subsidiary. Give it 6-12 months after google fucks adblockers and filter lists and firefox will adopt the same changes. Firefox is that scumbag that acts like he is your friend, and goes behind your back and does shady shit and either lies, refuses to accept responsibility, and shifts blame whenever he gets caught. Kill traitors first.

But yes, Chromium and its forks will get the same bullshit, unless fork developers implement their own solutions to adblocking. Bromite and Brave have done this. Ungoogled-chromium will follow suit as well, I guaruntee it.

>le trannyfox maymay
>uses google chrome, a botnet made by a SJW company
Why are Jow Forumstards this retarded?

Is Microsoft Edgemium also adopting this change? if it isn't then that is a viable alternative when it comes out

>strawmanning so hard you make up your opponent and their argument for them

>Is Microsoft Edgemium also adopting this change? if it isn't then that is a viable alternative when it comes out
Yes, unless they build and maintain the old/a new api themselves or they bake in their own adblocking solution, see

This is a good thing. Chrome has such a high user base that will now have to accept ads. This means companies will give up on anti-adblocking efforts meaning nerds are free to browse the web without ads.
