Good usb 3 pcie card with more than 4 ports?

>>i7 8700/K - Extreme solution for absolute max FPS

>It's possible to make out single pixels from more than an arm's length distance

Have you never heard if supersamplinget. Hell who says that close? I have a 1440p monitor and I have a good amount of distance from it when I'm on it whenever I have the time to watch stuff or play games on my of which is truth be told not often.

Wtf bros, Vulkan was supposed to save us amd bros.

t-thanks amd

how misleading

What game is that?

just throwin my jewz2shekels in on the 144hz debate
my little brother has been playing league of legends since about 30 million active players. now there is 100 million active players and three times as many shitty players to carry
getting the computer to push 144 frames and then also having the monitor has allowed him to climb much faster than any other year, he has a 58 percent win rate which doesnt sound amazing but the best players shoot for 51
will report back when he gets out of plat, hes never been anywhere near these ranks before

world war Z youtube.com/watch?v=zactcod9Xz4

nigga please, this is marketing tier shit.
Get 144hz because its clearly the more comfortable and pleasant experience. Not because it's the secret sauce for getting out of bronze.

There is no debate retard 144hz and above is objectively better. You can even feel the difference in smoothness in your desktop.

The only people saying otherwise are 40yo boomers on Jow Forums who still think 60hz is bleeding edge like 10 years ago.

we don't say higher hurtz is worse just not worth the money/PQ tradeoff and having to run the games on LOW

I decided to grab MSI GTX 1070ti since it's on sale in my country.
The problem is my monitor is only 1080p which I intent to upgrade later.
I wanted to try downscaling from 1440p to 1080p.
Is it worth it?
youtube.com/watch?v=hTszNDyuAhg

>I wanted to try downscaling from 1440p to 1080p.
>Is it worth it?
Yes? Just try it and see dur

The card hasn't arrived yet. So...

Yes I run 1 of my monitors @1440p from 1080p native and it's roughly uhhh 70% as good as the real thign bruh

Attached: Df-x-SeVAAIDSUG.jpg (537x529, 14K)

144hz at 1080p is very reasonable.
144hz at 1440p is another matter though.

>144hz at 1080p is very reasonable.
see:
>PQ tradeoff

>buy 1080p@144hz
>end up just using VSR/DSR to run 1440p on it anyway because it looks vastly better
>shoulda just paid $100 more for 1440p to look better still

Should I get a water cooler for my r5 2600? Currently using an arctic esports 34 duo.

I'm so close to just throwing away my DVD burner to free space, have 2 less cables, quieter start-up, and whatever ounces less of weight. Haven't used discs in years.

Give me one reason not to.

Attached: 2.jpg (1462x530, 57K)

>2 monitors
>one at 4k, 60hz
>other at 1440 or 1080 144hz

Is this reasonable for the sake of choice?

>>buy 1080p@144hz
good
>>end up just using VSR/DSR to run 1440p on it anyway because it looks vastly better
or actually run the high refresh rate which feels better majority of the time, but hey you have a choice

>>shoulda just paid $100 more for 1440p to look better still
you mean should have payed 200-300$ more and be locked into 1440p meme and then get shity as fuck framerates with no option to mitigate that without losing lots of visual quality.

>Give me one reason not to.
well the other week i got a 10$ chink maus off amazon and the software was on a cd, not download anywhere

pretty good maus too

>The card hasn't arrived yet. So...
do you not have a gpu at all right now?

The second it's gone something will come up where you'll need it.

Attached: D8B1TwGWkAMUOYN.png large.png (734x449, 13K)

Remove it and put it in a drawer. When you need it, just plug it in outside the case.

1050ti
I'm going to build another pc using that GPU for my family.

If I'm not into esports I should just get a 1440p/75Hz monitor instead of 1080p/144Hz right?

If you want higher quality graphics, right.

and you can't try supersampling with it because...?

235€ - MX500 2TB
308€ - 860 EVO 2TB

Alternatively:
120€ - MX500 1TB
134€ - 860 EVO 1TB

It's for a non-system drive. Which one should I go for? Is the performance penalty of the 2TB MX500 vs the 1TB significant?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 151K)

Am I missing something or are FullHD 144 Hz panels still >250€ ?

Looking to buy a desk mounted monitor arm for my Acer X34p. It weighs 6.76 kg without the current mounting. I'm not sure if I need pivot or swivel, but I'd rather pay 10€ extra than cheaping out and missing the feature later on.
Which brands would Jow Forums recommend for bang/buck? Money isn't really an issue, but I don't want to spend any more than I have to.
Also USB Hub would be appreciated.

How about you tell us what you plan on doing with the SSD? Just use it to dump your data? If you're german, take a look at Mindfactory, they're having quite the sale on SSDs in the Mindstar right now.

FUCK RGB desu

MX500 2TB, obviously.

Are CL14 B-dies worth the extra money for Ryzen or is any regular 3200 mhz kit fine?

Im upgrading from sandy bridge, do i want to buy 2600 now or wait for 3300? the specs looks similiar

please rate this cheap ass PC I'm building for my nephew

Attached: 1559479013445.jpg (609x767, 77K)

If you're asking that, you'll be fine with whatever 3200+

If they get Nvidia to cut prices it'll be worth it

>APU + GPU
why tho

Wait for zen 3

won't the mobo/ram prices go up by then?

why not

That's fake as fuck. There is no 3300. The cheapest 6c12t is 199.

because it's fucking stupid
get a Ryzen 5 2600 instead

I have an Arctic Z1. It's pretty good because you can have your monitor really close to the wall to maximize eye distance. Z1 basic doesn't give you the same depth. The pole looks really nice but the hub is made of the cheapest plastic known to man so I didn't even install it.

forbes.com/sites/antonyleather/2019/01/02/huge-leak-reveals-amd-ryzen-3000-series-details-16-core-monster-2019s-killer-processor/#f93555c7f605

Yeah... what are you trying to prove?
It's fake. The real specs were announced by AMD.

>AUO 90% DCI-P3 1080p 240hz IPS panel supposed to come out next month and they've been hitting target release dates recently
I just hope monitors using it will only be $400 USD or so, any more and 4k 144hz 90% DCI-P3 would be too tempting.

planning to do an i5 cpu based mid tier gaming desktop. what gen and what decent mobo can help? also would like your suggestion for a gpu.

I wish mATX got more love as a form factor, finding decent mATX motherboards is not too hard, but decent mATX cases are few and far in between. If it wasn't for water cooling support being a major selling point nowadays, then compact mATX cases with space for enough hard drives and decent cable management options would be more common. I just want something that looks nice on my desk without being imposing, but still has that full-sized ATX functionality.

I hope the new zen 2 (3800x or 3900x) and navi gpu's will be good, or perhaps even the rumored "super RTX cards. I'll be upgrading from my 3770k + r9 390 this year.

Is there an amd gpu that completes with rtx 2080 yet? Or should we be expecting one anytime soon?

Vega VII, it's really similar in terms of performance but it costs the same. If you want raytracing, go Nvidia. If you want to run gnu/linux, go for the Vega. Or wait for navi (probably in July, most likely budget to mid range cards only though).

Decided to do some undervolting just now because I thought the temps are kind of high and why the hell not. That's when I noticed this absolutely insane VCore under load when everything is set to Auto. What the fuck, surely this can't be right, there has to be some kind of mistake? Running it on a EVGA Z370 ftw.
I can get it down to ~1.26, which still seems fucking high for standard clocks...

Well that sucks. Thanks for the help, I'll still consider it!

Attached: Vcore.png (402x405, 45K)

>won't the mobo/ram prices go up by then?
That's a silly presumption.

HALP!
Planning to buy a Ryzen 3 at launch. Should I buy a X470 board now or wait for a x570 board when they release? Gonna pair with a 2060 or Vega 64.

Attached: 1544469259258.png (689x795, 67K)

Can a case be future-proof? Can't decide between the Fractal Design Focus G Mini ($45), Silverstone KL06 ($100), and Thermaltake Core X2 ($130).

Why buy now? Wait until X570 is out and then decide which X470/570 board fits your needs best.

Not really. The only meaningful change cases had in recent years was the addition of front usb 3.0. everything else is just gaymen gimmicks. I can't hurt investing a little more in a case that has good build quality and is easy to work with though, since you can keep using it for future builds.

Retailers are dumping their X470/B450 boards right now for cheap and I imagine prices will rise on the 7th across all pc components.

Figured x570 wouldn't have anything I need and x470 would be cheaper?

What's the point of Ryzen 3 when it's going to cost like the current 97 99k?

Attached: 4af763omkw221.jpg (1024x465, 50K)

What exactly happens if I don't hit the 144 fps target on my 144hz display? Screen tearing? More latency/delay? Thank you in advance.

..why would you buy a board now?

Attached: 1530964199454.png (399x400, 120K)

If there's an x470 board that does what you need then I'd say go for it. x570 is definitely gonna be more expensive

Nothing because you have adaptive sync enabled.

There will be no 3300 just as the wasn't a 2300. The low end were replaced with apush-ups, as will this one. And the next apus may not be based on zen2 but on zen+, also I don't think they are coming until after this first gen wave.

That pic was made by amd larpers
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anybody know where I can find b365 or z390 mobos that aren't expensive as fuck? In canada even the b365 are more expensive than the z370 extreme gayming edition meme boards

Is this some mobo industry faggotry going on?

Nice autocorrect

1660 or 580?

So is there a point in playing at ~80 fps on a 144hz monitor?

Please express your opinions about build for mostly 1440p gaming.

A similar case recommendations would be highly appreciated. (mate black; can be put on the ground; power button and usb ports on top)

Attached: yes.png (1432x635, 74K)

Yes, you clearly don't understand adaptive sync

Fine, but you might want to wait for the 3600/X, Navi, or a possible incoming price drop on the 20 series. Check benchmarks (remember they're mostly on Ultra) to see whether the 2060 will be powerful enough for your standards

looks decent
2060 won't be enuf for 1440p truly maxed out, have u looked at used 1080s?

Also consider switchign to this mobo pcpartpicker.com/product/3YhKHx/msi-b450-gaming-plus-atx-am4-motherboard-b450-gaming-plus

Hey user, I'm doing a pretty similar build. After a few days of research I'm wating for 3700x, for GPU I'll be looking for deals from now until 3k launches, but will probably go with a 2070.

As for cases, on that price range I think the h500 is pretty good, there's a new revision on the way but that might be a bit longer wait

>2060 won't be enuf for 1440p truly maxed out, have u looked at used 1080s?
2060 and 1080 are basically equal, shithead

Attached: relative-performance_2560-1440.png (500x890, 52K)

A month wait is a bit too long for me. And I think it would take even longer to get a good deal for 3000 series.

2060 should be enough for me.

Why gaming plus, what's a big difference?

>3700X 32MB L3 cache
>3800X 32MB L3 cache
>3900X 64MB L3 cache

When are temps considered to be unacceptable? Built an SFF PC and I hit 78c on the GPU and 90c on the CPU (Intel)

>TRULY MAXED OUT

TRULY FUCKIN MAXED

FUCKIN MAX THAT SHIT BRO

FUCKIN MAX IT

You can turn down settings just fyi

>1x 8 core chiplet
>1x 8 core chiplet
>2x salvaged 6 core chiplets

>wants to not be able to run current games at their settings, already has to tune down the settings
>new games come out and it can't run it at all

i play with a gtx1070 on 1440p 144hz and i don't have any issues. just turn down the settings for demanding games and enjoy the money saved when you play the ones that are easier to run

>I play 1080p at 20fps just turn down some settings lmao, my voodoo 3DFX stil strong and think about the money saved

Should I get a 144hz monitor for my second monitor if I don't plan to game on it?

I want to build a new PC. I'm currently using a E5-2670, which is lacking in single-thread performance by today's standards.

I'd prefer 6-8 cores and ECC RAM, which is what I have now. I guess the real question here is that should I stay with Intel (and move to socket 2011-3 or 2066), or go AMD?

I wouldn't really. I'd suggest going with a higher resolution one if anything. If you're just going to be putting basic shit and text don't overspend on it, just get a nice IPS one

Intel only supports ECC on Xeons and i3s afaik so you'd be better off with AMD

>2060 and 1080 are basically equal, shithead
nice cherrypicked bench faggot
i take it you fell for the 2060meme
LAMO

>Why gaming plus, what's a big difference?
high tier vs mid tier board, better vrms and other stuff, check MSI's site and compare the features

so you're spending 400$ to buy a gimped card that only allows you to game on lower settings

Why do people do this to themselves?
Just stick to 1080p or spend a tiny bit more and enjoy the games as they are meant to be played.. jeez

Attached: italian-gesture-19165628.jpg (1300x957, 60K)

Is 4k fine, because I heard that gpus can't do 4k yet?

Ultra is always waste

CPU might be throttling, 90C is usually the limit

Probably 1660

Will I notice much of a difference upgrading from a 4670 to Ryzen 3?

I game now and again but apart from that, my computer's mostly just for web-browsing and Hearthstone these days.

Attached: file.png (395x297, 232K)

Why is monitor quality so random? With the amount these things cost you'd think quality control would be of the utmost importance. Seems the same across every brand too, really difficult to buy one without fearing the worst. I can't be bothered returning shit, it's never an easy process with these companies.

Can anyone recommend the most reliable brand, if there is one?

>Ryzen 3
if u mean 1200,2200 or 2400 no, barely

at the bare minimum upgrade to a 1700/2600 or higher

Even integrated graphics can do 4k, only if you're gaming, rendering, etc you need a high end gpu, even for 60fps. If you're just playing video's, chat clients, web pages, etc it's no issue at all. It will strain the gpu more than a 1080p screen though regardless. What gpu are you running?

Sorry, I meant Ryzen 2, as in the chips coming out in July. AMD's naming scheme is a bit confusing.

I was planning to pick up Navi at the same time as the second monitor.
