no shit, not being able to hide the status bar is the biggest issue i currently have with this launcher.

app-drawer access and notification management is extremely smooth and efficient in niagara, doesnt really compare to a traditional launcher like nova.

Thirded. I've tried a couple but I stuck with Evie. Light and quick on my phone. Also use a couple of gestures to open apps.

kiss launcher and essential launcher are good. essential is a bit more light but also doesnt have a lotta nice features

I think I've been using Evie for longer than a year now. Best launcher to date.

Much easier to launch applications. Shows your most used stuff in order, doesn't need to type "launch", has great string comparison that helps you run commands without typing fully or correctly, shows useful stuff by default and has theming.

Bought a Pixel and realized I don't want a launcher anymore because I don't need to cover up all the bullshit Samsung and LG load their phones with.

I need the simplest, most lightweight launcher there is that does the following:

- Has an app drawer
- You can place widgets on Home screen

That would be the dream. Right now using Apex launcher and it has served me well but I'd like to switch to something a little less botnet (even if Apex isn't that botnet and fairly lightweight).

Ditched nova for Evie after I got bored of nova/decided I wanted to try something that wasn't recced by my now-ex-bestfriend.

Paired it with Min icons and it's minimal AF.

If anyone is looking for the most bloated, riciest launcher, it's TSF Shell. It's tolerable actually, but really taxes almost any hardware. My S5 is reeling, but I like ricing enough to not change.

Is there a better equivalent of something like Smart Launcher?

Been using it for like the past 3-4 years or so, and while I love the simplicity and drawers, I hate how fucking greedy the developers are. Even after buying it I'm still fucking being hounded to buy basic fucking features.

Gonna check out Essential for now, see how that goes.

Seconding this. KISS is free software, simple and functional. It's also reasonably lightweight, but I honestly don't care too much about that past a certain point. Nevertheless, it's a plus.

Can't hide apps in Essential and you need to have all these shitty shortcut icons at the bottom. I want everything to be hidden.
