This indeed proves my point, user. Btw, in real life content is even worse. They dumped lanczos for a reason.

>This indeed proves my point, user. It proves a certain amount of ringing as trade-off for a sharper image. I don't see any problems with massive ringing yet. >Btw, in real life content is even worse. See diff.pics/gOUi077ieSoz The 400% upscale is the worst lanczos example yet and even that is far from being massive. Noticable? Yes. Annoying most people? No. Annoying for videophiles? Yes, but those wouldn't stick to plain scalers anyway. >They dumped lanczos for a reason. If you're looking for official endorsement, you should stick with spline36.
lanczos is a great choice for low spec configs or people who are willing to accept a bit of ringing for a slightly sharper image. I see why some people prefer ewa_lanczossharp, but neither is better than the other.

Folks I made a booboo. I installed iina the other day and got everything set up to my liking, but then I realized I forgot to set up SVP to work with it. Now the regular tutorial won't work for me and I'm not sure what config folder I need to nuke to get it to work properly. Anyone know how to fix?

That's arguable, sharpness doesn't mean quality. That's why ewa_lanczossharp is tweaked performance/quality wise to avoid ringing and still be sharped enough to any type of media, including those artifacted vhs copies from the 90s.

According to igv you should use OFFSET 0 0 for y4m and jpg. However, when using these values for y4m I noticed that it always uses my normal cscale right afterwards, while my current KrigBilateral versions (-0.5 0 for normal scaling, -1 0 with FSRCNNX) handle chroma scaling exclusively and no version is able to handle JPEGs without resorting to my normal cscale. Is there something I'm missing?
