i literally just keep it on a another partition for games and dvd burning since proton isnt all the way ready yet and ffmpeg is a joke compaired to winx.

This is the white man's choice. Everyone on Jow Forums should do this. Those who aren't niggers, spics, kikes, poos or chinks at least.

stop watching porn

well we are not giving your machine to the client are we??

WinME was a million times worse than Win10 because you could just ignore WinME (which most people did). Meanwhile Microshit is doing their absolute damnedest to force everybody to switch to 10, and 10 is an unusable piece of shit.

>WinME was a million times worse than Win10

brainfart, better

>My god this is such a pile of shit, I get random errors during the fucking installation. Even Windows ME wasn't this bad
I feel for the Jow Forums meme after using 2015/6 builds of it but Windows 10 LSTC is probably my favorite Windows out of the post-vista releases.

What's best, Jow Forums?

Dual boot, VM with GPU passthough, or two machines?

i can't wait to run into my first problem ever with win10. in the meantime i think about how incredibly retarded you all have to be for constantly struggling with this smooth seamlessly working os

>Even Windows ME wasn't this bad
Fucking zoomers. Come to my house and wait with me while I transfer these files. Seriously I've been waiting an hour and a half so far.

0 errors here during installation and everything works fine.
You just must be retarded.

>years later the drawing tablet pen bug still exists
Kill me

>Even Windows ME wasn't this bad

That's because you either weren't born or a child to understand anything.

I fell for the Windows Me même and Windows 2000 which was orders of magnitude more stable got released a few months after.

Elaborate?

Most drawing tablet pens will act as though you're holding them down whenever you attempt to draw, has been that way since 2017 and it's very obtuse to fix and the fix isn't permanent.

>I get random errors during fucking installation.
Then either you're doing something massively wrong or you're using a fucking toaster. I've installed Windows 10 on different computers (both 32 and 64 bit) and I've never encountered an error.

Go back to your ipad and iphone if you can't handle a real computer.

>Windows
>real computer

Said real computer, not real OS.

Reading comprehension, user.

He meant windows is not worthy of a real computer

When I get a new computer I'm just at first going full linux after using 7, personally. Seems like the best option I mean there's still a good selection of games I've yet to play and I could also just play really demanding minecraft modpacks, ha.

Literally never happened with me. Maybe you got a bad ISO... or you're just retarded.

LTSC is not only more modern but unironically more lightweight than Windows 7.

>kikes and chinks can't figure out how to dual boot

De-botnetted de-Metro Windows 8.1 is the best-performing Windows version at the moment.
I'm actually typing this on Server 2012 R2, which is even better, but requires a shitload of configuration. And my SMB server still doesn't work, but I get why Microsoft disabled it. That's a way quicker solution to the Wannacry outbreak than actually fixing whatever problem it exploited.

Only random errors? Manjaro has crashed 10 times on me so far and I've only used it for a day. 8 of them were during the install.
But then again comparing anything to Arch is going to make it look good.

Arch is pretty damn stable tho
it's just that the way that Manjaro is makes it more prone to brokage

t. pretty much been a Winfag whole life

*break

>Arch is stable
No.

Attached: Screenshot1.png (848x657, 63K)

of course it's not as stable as the real stable ones like debian or redhat/centos (which has old as fuck packages so not really adequate for desktop use)
but it certainly was a lot better than ubuntu(both latest and lts) or fedora in my experience

you can install the lts kernel to increase stability if you want or have it as a fallback

Well, I AM running the LTS kernel already.
I mean, I'm enough of a risktaker to install Manjaro, but I'm not insane enough to run Manjaro with the newest kernel. Didn't stop any of the crashes or the kernel corruption I experienced yesterday, btw.

>of course it's not as stable as the real stable ones
that's a cope if I've ever seen one

>retarded OP downloads a virus ridden copy of windows
>blames microsoft

the current state of Jow Forums

Nobody is gonna learn thousands of command-line arguments to operate a system that might not work. On the topic of Manjaro:
Look, I fuckin' tried Linux. I tried Manjaro, PopOS, custom flavors of Ubuntu, Fedora, I've tried it all on my desktop. All in about the span of 4 days.
How could I have tried so many operating systems in 4 days, you might ask? Well, Manjaro won't fucking install. I forget what the issue was, but it fails to install something and errors out.
Then I try PopOS, which also fails to install due to a hangup with the graphics driver. I reboot with non-free drivers, do some command-line kajiggering, and get that to install. Great. But for some reason, something's still fucked with the graphics and it performs like ass, not to mention the MULTITUDE of UI bugs that require a restart (it does shit like capturing the keyboard, so I can't even try to fix it). So I move on.
I then tried all of the other distros I mentioned, but they ALL had the same bugs. These bugs are, in order of importance:
>the only suitable audio output on my computer (which is the speaker jack at the back of my Xonar DG soundcard) is not automatically detected at launch. Yes, I tried to save settings of ALSAmixer. Doesn't matter: I gotta reconfigure audio at boot every time.
>the audio produced by this soundcard is WAY TOO LOUD. Probably because it has a built-in headphone amp that Linux doesn't know how to handle. I have the dial set to the minimum value (which is like -255 db or something, I forget), and I STILL have to have my speakers at a ridiculously low volume to not blow-out my ears.
>my USB keyboard does not get power after waking from a suspend. Yes, I tried every USB HID hack you can think of. It still needs to be unplugged and plugged back in every time
>unless I'm missing something, there does not seem to be a way to set the core and memory clock speed of my graphics card during operation, which is fuckin' useful.
I could go on.

/thread

>my USB keyboard does not get power after waking from a suspend
Oh man at least you can WAKE from a suspend. On Manjaro, after I got it to fucking install (again, 8 crashes total, was fun, and another one afterwards when I tweaked my display), I suspended it for the night after fiddling to get some of my basic applications to work.
Come the next day? I press the power button, computer turns on....blank screen, screens go back to sleep, never wake up, computer is still trying to turn on.
I let this go on for 10 minutes before hitting that hard reset. I try to boot back into Manjaro: BOOM CORRUPTED KERNEL. 10/10.
Fast forward to the night of the same day and after a reinstall I'm currently trying to get GIMP to work. Refused to run at all. Managed to fix it by updating the database.

So yeah, Linux is a bit fiddly. But Manjaro has given me the fewest issues with my Wifi card and graphics drivers so far, so that's nice. And the window manager on KDE unironically beat Win10.

Nah dude, fuck that. Follow my advice, further up the thread: run Windows Server 2012 R2. It's all the performance and driver support of Windows without the botnet, or updates that cripple what you're doing. Microsoft is SUPER picky about the sorts of updates they push to servers.

I've already got a Windows install I'm happy with on this PC. I'm not insane enough to run fucking Manjaro of all distros as my only OS. I'm mainly doing this because I'm starting a CS degree this year, and also for a change of pace.
Linux is also really lightweight. Manjaro is not the light distro, especially not with KDE, but it's still running off a partition on my secondary hard drive like silk.

Here's the real question: if you're dual-booting something light to get experience for a CS degree, why aren't you running Temple OS? What's wrong with you? It unironically has less bugs than Manjaro.

That may be true, but have you considered the fact that I'm a glow-in-the-dark CIA nigger?

You're bad and dumb

>Have to use Visual Studio
>Oh, a new update. Alright, I'll install it.
>Open project.
>Press F5 to run debug
>Computer immediately bluescreens

NOICE

They don't have souls, though. You wouldn't be in a place like this, having genuine discussion, if you were a CIA nigger. This guy, on the other hand, can claim such a thing:
This is the sort of guy you run over with your car, because our laws don't apply to them.

this is the only worthwhile post in this entire thread.

Agreed. Only problems I ever had with my win 10 comp was during installation like OP but it's ran perfectly fine since then.

das right Pajeet, win10 is the best window super fantastic.
