Linux mint and manjaro still on linux 4.9 or something
I just installed linux 5.1.6 on my arch
Why the fuck are the mainstream distros lagging behind with kernel updates?

Well, Mint is based on Ubuntu, which is based on Debian, which is the Amish distro - really comfy, if you don't need anything particularly modern.

You appear to be doing something incorrectly there. Here, let me post a screenshot of Manjaro's kernel selection and installation utility. You can install whichever one is listed there from the official repositories:

literally who cares about kernels

Just update the kernel manually

fedora uses kernel 5.09

My fc30 system runs on 5.1.5, Rawhide has 5.2rc2

because theyre lagging behind with every package

19.04 is already on 5.0

because new kernels may break your system.. and manjaro and mint are meant for normies. normies cant fix their systems

What do you need the newest kernel for?

mitigations=OFF

You can use "ukuu" to get never kernels on debian based distros.

Are you sure about that?
I could choose to run experimental 5.2 too

u alright there buddy?

I tried a non-lts ubuntu and it was nothing but pain.
In the end Sudo broke and died.

Also certain software, proprietary AMD drivers with a working OpenCL kill your sistem to death if the kernel version is wrong.

So it's better no to fix that which works

>not even 5.1-x on intel
Lmao your not even patched for the newest zombieload and shit

im so sowy daddy, i updated my kwernel for u

kernel updates fucked up my arch system twice. I became tired of being one of the fags who filter most bugs to normies and became a normie myself.

so you switched to lts?

>tfw your Windows 10 never lags behind the other Windows

With Manjaro I was experiencing display problems from 4.19 and up. 4.14 was constantly reliable.
