welcome to Jow Forums nigga

Fedora Silverblue

Gentoo + bspwm

The only distro which has a beautiful out of the box DE experience is Xubuntu

okay guys why is Xubuntu so good?
Isnt XFCE with GTK 2 almost deprecated when Qt exists?

>Linux Mint Debian Edition with Cinnamon
FTFY

>1099 packages
>1366x768
>3015Mib / 3844Mib
user I...

It's Debian with GNOME, Pedrito.

Gentoo with Cinnamon

Looks pretty comf broski.

Install it for me and I'll swap from Windisease.

LDME + Cinnamon

Dat lyfe.

whats wrong with the name pedro?
btw youtube.com/watch?v=QoQcOqcinE0
>implying I would screenshot my own desktop

no thank you
i dont use my pc as a toy

Arch with i3

yes drop that winshit, user. its actually pretty easy to install debian 10:
debian.org/releases/buster/debian-installer/

Debian 10 is out?

same setup. I'm not alone!

unironically using gnu/linux
saged

been out since march fast freddy

>whats wrong with the name pedro?
Nothing.
Pedrito is an affectionate way to say it in Spanish.

Debian with Openbox

not officially, no.

oh.. wow.. an extra 30megs to have a working and usable desktop

LXQT + Kwin, configure Kwin in KDE and then just switch to it under LXQt to transfer all WM settings

Deepin 15.10 best looking out of the box, fight me losers

Not him but FUCK you 1366x768 is actually acceptable.

>Chromium
why doe

your axes are unlabeled.
you get an F for Faggot.

Fresh arch install - I'm getting a black screen with lightdm or when I try to startx from tty (bspwm). any ideas? reinstalled xorg and nvidia drivers

Bet it hurts to read, just get a 16:9 laptop but with FHD user

>GNOME
>3015Mib/3885Mib
Yep, that sounds about right.

I DE-hopped until I settled on XFCE. It just werks for me with minimal configuration (dark theme, new icons, intelligent hide bottom panel), although KDE is my second favorite.

Comfy as fuck

maybe if they could hurry the fuck up and actually fucking release buster

it's frozen for release but they're taking their damn sweet time getting around to it. Remember that releases are done out of the testing branch so that's what's frozen. It's also what backports are made from, so if you're in a position like me where you need one or two packages up to date but don't care about the rest, then you're stuck. Nothing newer than what's there is coming to buster until they release it and stuff starts flowing from unstable to testing (and into backports) again.

My dude, hall of fame thread right here

Attached: 1559719577.png (1366x768, 137K)

it is debian with openbox
CrunchBang linux was the best distro ever created

>out of the box
None of them. You need a good tiling wm for comfy

Lxqt looks great. Is it already comfortably usable?

I'm using Gnome with Dash-to-Panel and it's pretty OK, i only switched to dash-to-panel because i was getting weird issues with switching back and forth from fullscreen apps leaving me with a gap where the gnome top bar would have been.

Agreed. There are manjaro with i3 community builds tho... Haven't tried it, probably bloated, but it's closest to out of the box I ever came accross

deb + lxde for me.

It stays the fuck out of my way and lets me computer.

debian plus cinammon

Ubuntu without stock gnome

i still think lumina is better, and if ypu arent limiting yourself to qt, enlightenment is awesome

no. there are severe quality of life issues, some of which can be solved with using a proper wm like xfwm instead of openbox, but others (like the lack of backlight or media controls) which are dealbreakers on laptops

>16GB
lmao tards

yes of course i respect and support the GNU project and the Free Software Movement. Why shouldnt I?

>stay away with your xfce bloat
>also devuan is a meme
You're nuts

this is my man!

I seriously cannot use DEs with task bar not being icon only, so it's plasma for me. I tried to find widgets for GTK-based DEs, but all of them were extremely glitch and abandoned. Sure, it's stupid, but i just can't, it's too space efficient, So, kde neon for me since >a fucking foot.

xfce has an icon only mode, friend

But does it combine multiple instances of the same application to the single group of icons and does it have pinning were pinned icon launches into itself?

>default on budgie
>dash-to-dock on gnome

btw do you think that one should feel that every package needs an USE flag change? Asking for a friend. I myself utilise USE flags but sometimes I just let the default ones. I have gentoo hardened + libressl + ck-sources so I guess I'm not using it like Arch

I don't quite like budgie and i said i hate gnome.
What the fuck is with gtk shills, can't accept that someone finds qt-based de a better experience than all your toys can provide?

there's cinnamon as well, but honestly it sucks almost as bad as gnome

When used it last time, it consumed like 2gigs of ram just by itself. Seriously, the only gtk-based de i found tolerable is mate.

>de i found tolerable is mate.
And unity, forgot about it. I actually liked unity.

what the fuck, use whatever DE you want. I'm OP and not even a GTK shill since I created this thread shilling LXQt.
I just proved you wrong because neither Budgie nor GNOME Dash-to-Dock are glitch or abandoned.

>GNOME Dash-to-Dock
It'll be when gnome disable extensions completely somewhere next year lul

is lxqt usable now?
a few months ago i tried it in a vm and its completely unusable
i would stick with xfce for now until lxqt becomes actually usable

packages
No problems at all with this. Stop with this 'muh bloat' meme.
x768
OMG, he's using a laptop with a widely adopted resolution! What a shock!
Mib / 3844Mib
Unused RAM is wasted RAM.
The only problem in the fetch is unironically using Arch.

>being such a poorfag that you can't buy 16GB in the current year
Cringe!

Fedora with Gnome you fuckfags
fight me

based

why do you need 16 gigs of RAM retard?
>Cringe!
cringe

>.t ramlet

Frankendebian not for daily use IMO, but will see how is KDE doing there, since I might install it in my new PC, at the moment got Debian XFCE in my i3 sandy bridge school laptop, top comfy

gentoo + dwm

Attached: 2019-06-05-203057_662x312_scrot.png (662x312, 40K)

Gentoo with Enlightenment.

Attached: shot-2019-04-10_22-54-28.jpg (1920x1200, 561K)

lxqt is finally stable and production ready yes. i've been waiting since the start of the razor-qt days. i tested it out for the first time in two years yesterday, and it's a whole new world. it's fucking fast too. even with all the extra stuff ubuntu ships with. lxqt was ready to go 2 seconds after hitting the desktop on my i5-6300hq with 8gb ram.

kde took like 15 seconds. unity took about the same. gnome takes a little longer than kde and unity. mate and xfce take a couple of seconds longer than lxqt.

THIS

Why would you want a transparent terminal

Solus + Budgie

OpenIndiana with Xview.

30megs? i thought this was number of packages

Arch with Awesome WM over XFCE

why not tribblix?

I fucking love tribblix on systems where I don't need ZFS, but for some reason Peter refuses to answer any of my emails. I wanted him to incorporate owacomp into his distro.

Debian Buster with GNOME.
Not the best ram-wise, but the most comfy.

Hey, you haven't tried Debian Cinnamon yet. :)

uBlock. Use it.

try running android studio with less than 8 and then kill urself because of how painful it is.

wrong, gentoo + dwm
