Shills over at Twitter have found the rationale to defend the recent announced prices for the new Mac:
>it's not for you, so hating doesn't make sense
>It moves the industry forward, so it's good
>Hurr Durr hate culture is hip now
Here is the thread in question: twitter.com/austinnotduncan/status/1135997403406798848?s=19
I share it here because I find it really interesting, mainly because some people defend this as an incentive for the industry to keep improving

Do you thing the pricing and tech presented by apple yesterday is a good way to move the industry forward, or a disservice because it glorifies tech that is so commonly available today?

We live in a society. An appletards actions have effects that affect all of us.

I think its a good price, considering that they're selling a future release CPU.

Whats with the weird filter that makes it look like pre-rendered CG from a 1992 computer game?

I'm mad because apple sets the precedent for all other companies. This will be the new norm in 5 years.

>400% markup is "improving the industry"
no, 400% markup sends a signal to companies that people will pay that much
if anything this retards the industry

What are you taking about

As someone who uses a Mac as one of their home computers... i mean, yeah, the Mac Pro is certainly a professional system that commands that kind of premium. However i feel the price creep of Apple computers is pushing home users like myself away from the macOS platform and onto iOS devices.

The keyboard issues plus the premium for memory is pretty bad on even the MacBook Air. But i don't think we'll see an entry level MacBook again.
