It's based on Debian. It uses Trinity (KDE 3.5 fork) as the desktop.

It doesn't. Intel graphics tear on some systems that have bad defaults. If you have an IQ over 35 you can add a couple lines to an xorg configuration file, reboot, and there's no tearing ever again.
Create /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf then put this into it:
#tear-free settings for retarded nigger monkeys
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "TearFree" "true"
