>32-inch OLED
Do you smell that, user?

See, the problem with you faggots is that you’re imagining yourself spending your own money on this thing. Of course a $999 hunk of metal is ridiculous, and so is a 6K monitor. What, were you gonna get a new Mac Pro and this monitor to play Minecraft with all the mods?

This is marketed toward professionals spending their superior’s money.

Comparing agains $43,000 dollars monitor instead of Dell $2000 dollars monitor.

tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_up2718q.htm

Almost nobody in the industry considers color grading in oled monitors because the end result will be way off in shitty monitors, like consumers use. Way off.

THE MOST HILARIOUS THING APPLEL EVER PULLED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS WAS "RETINA" MARKETING ON THEIR DISPLAYS

ITS LIKE "YOUR EYE CANT SEE MORE THAN 30FPS" MEME

AND THEY GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE JUST BUYING THE BRAND

To be honest, monitor manufacturers should exclude the stand more often because anyone who cares about comfort would have their own mounting system.

>b-but pros use it

Pros will buy a proper 100% sRGB/Adobe monitor. If they can get that at $500, there is literally no reason to spend 6k. It's a stupid waste of money at that point.

>1,000,000:1 contrast ratio
Why is OLED relevant in this case?

Dude the fucking monitor stand cost 1300.00 wtf??

>6016 x 3384
for fucks sake

It's $199 for the VESA mount alone. It's insane.

>calibrated pro display
>6016x3384 resolution
>10bit
>peak 1600 nits brightness
>super wide viewing angle
>will probably be one of the most accurate displays in existence when its reviewed

Reference monitors for edition and TV production are more expensive than you plebs realize. Big companies don't use any old off the shelf ASUS or whatever bullshit they can find on newegg. Some of Sony's low end units were $9000~ last I checked. The monitor here is the only sane thing they're selling. The computer on the other hand is a total travesty without excuse. Imagine buying a fucking 8 core Xeon for $6000 with just 4GB of RAM and its laptop SO-DIMMs.

$6000 is a reasonable price for a 14ft tall display.

Attached: 2019-06-05-1559705401_842x639_.png (842x639, 586K)

The monitor itself is solidly priced for the market they're aiming for, Sony reference monitors go for $35k. Still though, none of them try to sell you $1k stands or $200 mounts for it.

Fake 1,000,000 : 1 contrast, use two different FALD zones as dynamic contrast.

>laptop SO-DIMMs.
They're full sized I think

Attached: mac pro ram.png (950x497, 190K)

>4 GB ram
They ship with 32
>laptop so-dims
They're full dimms, idiot.
Meanwhile, this is the equivalent HP configuration.

>b-but my $500 acer chink shit has the right stickers!
I love it when r/buildapc migrants try to act like they know shit about using computers for real work.

AT LEAST IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE A CHEESE GRATER

THE TOWER IS THE WORST DESIGN OF THE BUNCH

Have you seen the back?

LOOKS SEXY ON THE MONITOR

>le cheese grater maymay
All HP workstations look like swiss cheese in their backs.

THIS LOOKS LIKE A CHROME CHEESE GRATER IN THE FUCKING FRONT LMAO

NOT JUST THE PATTERN, THE SHAPE ITSELF IS UGLY TOO

nice bait fren

Pajeet tier products are never used for REAL work.

Find me a monitor that can do 1000 nits sustained, and has a resolution of atleast 6K

Find me a macshit """"""""""Pro"""""""" monitor that can do 8K. I'll wait.

You probably think megapixels matter in smartphone cameras too, kek.

lmao, maybe 10 years ago

What's with Apple and fucking retarded non-standard resolutions?

>OLED monitor
Enjoy your burn in and pathetic sub 1000 nits brightness.

>1000+ nits displays
What the fuck? Do you niggers take your desktop to the park to browse 4chinz or what?

It's pretty irrelevant if your OS can content scale correctly, which macOS can. Say what you will but Microsoft still cannot get DPI scaling correct.

HDR content goes well beyond 1000 nits, so you need a monitor that can do those numbers to edit HDR content properly.

The literal state of Jow Forums these days.

>brightness (400 nits)
in the trash it goes

Holy shit how many apple related threads do we need. You guys are like reddit when Trump tweets something.

1000 nits Apple Monitor > 400 nits Dell Monitor

tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_up2718q.htm
You need add this monitor to HDR1000 oh and still cheap two monitors.

This screen is for mastering and hdr color critical work though it's not for your average consumer.

No single word about 3D LUT Tables

Whens the screen coming out it wasn't it pre calibrated from the factory?

Does that cheese grater have 10gbit/s?

>turn off FALD for reference work
>now 1500:1 contrast

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_lookup_table
color.viewsonic.com/explore/content/Advanced-14-bit-LUT-and-3D-LUT_1.html

OH NO NO NO NO

FALD burns in too retard unless it has only 8 zones the LED backlight zones will wear, changing colour and getting dimmer at different rates.

How about if Apple had priced the display at $6900, and the stand at $100?

You don't need internal 3D LUT or a LUT box when the display is intended for use on a computer. The gpu handles the LUT compute in real time.

>OLED
>for content creation
Are you retarded?
Otherwise, it's still overpriced garbage like any other applel "product"

>buys $200 vesa mount
>measures it and makes 3d model
>offer it for free online
>people 3d print it or make their own
fuck you applel

3D printing hundreds of VESA mounts for an effects studio would cost far more than what apple's asking for metal mounts.
Doesn't matter anyway; when you're in contract with them they'll just give you a box with extra mounts, just in case.

>can't afford a standard $43,000 monitor
you're not a poor pajeet or something right?

Attached: 1559719859124.jpg (251x242, 8K)

>led "reference" monitor

Why would you buy this when it can't display true black or take sdi?

Fucking plebpple fans can't even afford an epyc build with quad Radeon instincts, and 10tb ram. Top fucking kek

Show me a monitor that this one is actually competing against. Where are these pro 10k+ costing monitors?

it's a FALD monitor

>not 16:10
lmao 6k and a shit ratio. get fucked iToddlers

Nice straw man faggot

While most will look at its US$4,999 asking price as being excessive, it is actually good buying at the price. In fact, Apple compared it to one of Sony's pro monitors targeted at film studios that its new monitor technically surpasses - Sony's asking price for its monitor? US$43,000, which makes the new Apple monitor a relative bargain for what it offers.

nice shill, i can get a better 100hz monitor for way less money

name one

literally go on amazon and search for a monitor

if it's so easy why don't you do it and prove me wrong

Why does colour accuracy matter when 99.999% of the people viewing the content won't be using colour accurate screens? Even high-end smartphones (Samsung) boost saturation to extreme levels.

>100hz monitor
No one cares about gaymer trash.

Black is damn fine on LED reference monitors, having more room working with bright content is worth it.

An image graded on an accurate monitor still usually looks better on a bad monitor than one graded on an inaccurate monitor.

>why do you need good audio-equipment as a producer when most people will listen to 192kbs encodes on their 20 bucks headphones and cheap ass TV speakers

no one cares about apples overpriced trash
yeah, i dont get why you would need that shit either, stupid marketing tactic
if youre too stupid to go on amazon dont reply

Yeah I'm also wondering this, answer it please.
It's not necessarily a bad monitor, most displays are over saturated so if you create a vibrant image on a colour accurate monitor it'll be far too over saturated on a consumer display.

there is no matching monitor at a better price
you can't find one so you rage instead
everyone sees through it

>no one cares about apples overpriced trash
Going by all these threads, a lot people clearly do.

>i dont get why you would need that shit either
Sorry to hear about your autism. Best of luck dealing with it and eventually becoming a functional autist.

even on bad equipment a bad master is still worse than a good master

>with just 4GB of RAM and its laptop SO-DIMMs.

Where the fuck did you get this idea?
The base spec GPU has 8GB, the computer itself ships with a MINIMUM of 32GB of 2666Mhz or 2933Mhz ECC DDR4.

It comes with a bunch of pre-calibrated colour profiles, no lookup tables needed, it's all pre-calibrated at the factory per-panel.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1796x514, 76K)

>98% DCI-P3

That's a big nope from any video producer.

stop shilling

Just visit Eizo's website, or Sony's professional website.

>stop shilling

Correctly quoting specs is shilling now?

Apple knows its monitors are just going to be used for Facebook and Instagram.
Apple doesn't have the know how to able to compete with Sony nor can iTodlers afford a real mastering monitor.

Seethingstein.

cope

oof

this..the thing would suffer from burn-in in no time

Reference monitors are something else.
Go see the specs of Sony ones, completely different boards.

muh OLED meme
