No.

fuck off stax

Is this mpv.net on Windows is what iina is to mpv in Mac?

It is pure trash compared to iina

Really? How does it compare to regular mpv then?

The third time is the charm.

According to igv you should use OFFSET 0 0 for Y4M and JPEG. However, when using these values for Y4M, I noticed that my normal cscale is being used right afterwards. This doesn't happen with my current KrigBilateral setup (-0.5 0 for normal scaling, -1 0 with FSRCNNX), which handles chroma scaling exclusively. Also no OFFSET configuration seems to be able to handle JPEGs without resorting to my normal cscale.
Is there something I'm missing?

bump

It's almost like development has gotten slow as shit for both the player itself and shaders and there's nothing to talk about

What's the keyboard hotkey to display the information (bitrate, codec etc.) about the video file/stream you're playing

i to show it temporarily, shift+i to toggle it.
You can switch pages with 1 and 2.

But I don't ever want to stop talking about mpv!

lacks a lot still
shinchiro is love

but mpv.net gets updated weekly.

...trying to make it as good as regular mpv. You just recently got the ability to drag and drop subs. Like wtf

>cant disable borders
Worthless

>github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/5411
Just merge this already.

VLC is dead, long live VLC

Maybe in another year.

MPC-HC isn't maintained anymore. Does mpv offer things like madVR? how riceable is it?

just fresh installed windows and caved in, it works so whatever, I guess this is what I'll be using now

stop replying to yourself, stax

Yeah, mpv.net shill hijack the general every day that's why people stop posting.

just installed and i am clueless as it is now. how do i config it and all.

installer\mpv-install.bat

the shill completely fucked up the OP ask him

ARTORIUZ IS CANCELLED

ok it seem to work like a default media player now but the lack of ui like mpc make it is a new thing for me to adjust thing in this is there like ultimate guide for it?

all you need is profile=gpu-hq in your mpv.conf file, aside of that you can check this weeaboo "guide" which is obviously too subjective but covers basic things you may want to tweak:
>iamscum.wordpress.com/guides/videoplayback-guide/mpv-conf/

does the config file is the one in the mpv folder, im using window 10 and i have no idea where and which config file i should edit.

madVR was necessary 10 years ago.

It is completely riceable. With very moderate programming knowledge you can write custom scripts for it.

You can create a file named mpv.conf in the movie directory or in appdata\mpv

just use the mpv.net front-end if you really want GUI on mpv.

>homo detected

Don't listen this retard, that GUI is buggy as hell you dont wanna another deprecated software.

kys shill

You can also make a portable_config folder in your mpv directory and put your config there.

Or just put your config in the same directory as mpv.exe

cope harder

I just read the following, directly form mpv's manpage:
In general, it's very strongly advised to avoid hardware decoding unless abso‐
lutely necessary, i.e. if your CPU is insufficient to decode the file in ques‐
tions. If you run into any weird decoding issues, frame glitches or discol‐
oration, and you have --hwdec turned on, the first thing you should try is dis‐
abling it.

Why is that? I was apparently under the wrong assumption that hardware decoding should be preferred, to take away load from the CPU. Can someone please elaborate? Have you ever run into such issues caused by hardware decoding?

...still no gui??

The issues are prescribed prior to that statement (and there could be others still), and CPU decoding is really not that big of a deal.
Really, there's no need for most people.

No graphical menus yet, if that's what you're asking.

ur hardware decoder can age or be defective or some other shit while CPU decodes perfectly if it's powerful enough

I have been getting this annoying error recently.
>>vkAllocateMemory(vk->dev, &minfo, MPVK_ALLOCATOR, &slab->mem): VK_ERROR_OUT_OF_DEVICE_MEMORY

I don't know if it actually affects anything, but its still annoying.
Any user here know how to fix it?

>ur hardware decoder can age or be defective or some other shit
Brainlet here, how can hardware decoders "age"?

What happened to vlc, is it too passe now?

Nothing happened.

why yes it is

>mpv.net
>not behind mpv
github.com/stax76/mpv.net/releases

This image is bad persuasion. People prefer courage (mpv) because it's reliable and always saves the day. Everyone loves watching Eustace (mpv.net/filthy Jew like figure) get what they deserve, which is a cruel beating of some kind, because they're shitty and have no redeeming qualities.

Just ignore all the pajeet's posts on this board.

I made the switch like a month ago after VLC was fucking up on the Smile Precure episodes I downloaded (it'd stop displaying subs after the OP/ED played and I'd have to enable them again). It'd also drop some frames at the beginning of each segment, so you'd see visible artifacting.
Had a bunch of issues with VLC before that, but this was the straw that did me in.

mpv is nice. Works well on all my machines, including the raspi 2 I'm typing this post on.

It doesn't. The mpv manual just says that hardware decoding is likely to produce worse looking output/fuck up on more files than software decoding.

Go to %APPDATA%\mpv\ in Explorer, edit/create mpv.conf.

you're a joke

>Any user here know how to fix it?
No, it's clearly a dev matter: github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues

Nobody? I thought Jow Forums liked using mpv as image viewer?

Chroma location? Just ask igv.

>Almost 3 months have passed since the initial pull request
>Jeeb still hasn't merged error diffusion dithering
JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB!

Attached: dithering.png (792x679, 48K)

>error diffusion dithering
can I get a quick rundown?

Is there a way of using mpv to play shit from bitchute or sites like it? I've grown fond of my cli setup with rss feeds but if Youtube is going to be dickheads and start destroying their own site I guess I'll need to expand to using other shit as well.

It is a more advanced version of dithering.

I don't know what I expected.

>It doesn't. The mpv manual just says that hardware decoding is likely to produce worse looking output/fuck up on more files than software decoding.
This recommendation seems idiotic. If files are encoded to standard, there should be no problem. If someone experience problems with hardware decoding, the fault is at the source, not at the decoding pipeline.

>if files are encoded to standard
but what if pajeet wrote GPU drivers or they fucked up the design of the hw decoder?

Not all hardware configurations support standards to their fullest extent. For example, NVDEC only supports 4:4:4 HEVC decoding with RTX cards.

That would be nVidia. AMD is perfect and never make mistakes.

Granted.

What would be the best shaders/configuration for watching anime in fullscreen on my 1440p monitor?

Attached: 1531588336922.png (1200x1200, 220K)

I think AMD still hasn't figured out VP9 hardware decoding

I can make no sense of it. I honestly don't understand where dithering is used on mpv.
Yes, I read the PR.
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/6564

That only means that AMD doesn't have a broken VP9 decoder.

FSRCNNX + KrigBilateral + SSimDownscaler
If you want you can also give adaptive-sharpen a try.

If the encode is 1080p use SSSR with ewa_robidouxsharp parameters+ewa_lanczossharp for luma scaling.

If the encode is 720p use FSRCNNX_x2_8-0-4-1

If the encoder is DVD resolution or lower use FSRCNNX_x2_8-0-4-1+SSSR with ewa_robidouxsharp parameters+ewa_lanczossharp for luma scaling

Thanks anons.

Attached: 1538650029206.png (2560x1440, 1.63M)

That's the most retarded shit I've ever seen on Jow Forums, and I've been here a decade.

>Using FSRCNNX for anime
Lmao

>If the encode is 1080p use SSSR with ewa_robidouxsharp parameters+ewa_lanczossharp for luma scaling.
Ah, right. Now that you've mention it, 1080p->1440p won't trigger FSRCNNX.
Still not sure about your obsession with ewa_robidouxsharp though.

Why did you decide to finally come to an mpv thread after 12 years?

What would you propose?

>Still not sure about your obsession with ewa_robidouxsharp though.
Better than mitchell

>t. lapcuck

RobidouxSharp vs. Mitchell is already negligible, even for videophile standards. I'd wager EWA RobidouxSharp even more so.

Sounds like you have broken vulkan drivers.

>one of bjin's PRs finally got merged
>it's not error diffusion

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB!

STAX76 IS ASCENDED

if it's supported by youtube-dl it plays on mpv

Just use profile=gpu-hq and free yourself from this shader autism.

Attached: 63.png (800x800, 305K)

>spline36
No, thanks.

>error diffusion dithering
not even important, even mac shit is more relevant than this

artoriuz at least dont steal other projects so yeah, artoriuz is way better than strash76

mongoloid

Since when forking foss is the same as stealing?

Also change scale and cscale to lanczos. And you are done.

>wanting ringing on your color
Nice one tard.
