Why doesn't Jow Forums like 4k gaming?

>hurr you have to have a top end card
no you don't. I'm playing pic related at 4k on highest ultra settings and it's barely stressing my RX 580 to get 60 FPS
>Hurr the monitors are too expensive!
no they're not. I'm playing on a 43 inch 4k TV that's only like $250
>Hurr you can't see anything beyond 1440p!
Yes you can. It looks MUCH better on a decent 4k display than anything else.

>16:9 shit
kill yourself

...

said literally fucking no one, kill yourself

>60 FPS
I'd rather do 144Hz at 1600p on a ultrawide.

OP isn't talking about a video game though, but hardware related to gaming.
Hardware belongs on a technology board, like it or not.

Why the FUCK do /v/edditors keep fucking posting so often here lately? I swear to god it's the satania shit bringing them here.

Go back to /v/ faggot

>60fps
I'd rather drop down to a 1080p144 monitor than go back to 60hz. And the only 4K120 panels are ~$1000, you have to hack them yourself, and there aren't even any cards capable of pushing that. Also:
>using new vegas as some kind of benchmark
>playing games on a shit TV with all kinds of input lag
>implying you know what a decent 4k tv is when you have a bottom tier TCL tv

>tv
>60fps
>rx580
jesus christ kill yourself

Reform yourselves, degenerate filth.

I bought a 2080 ti and need to upgrade my 1080p monitor. Should I get a 4K 60fps monitor with good color calibration out the box(looking at the BenQ models) or a 1440p 144hz gamyer monitor?

You wont wanna go back from 144hz after you're use to it

yeah but my fancy sony camera makes 6K resolution photos in adobeRGB colorspace and i heard the high fps monitors look like diluted piss

Because 6k gaming is much better.

this

>and there aren't even any cards capable of pushing that.
Depends on the game. Several games I play I use supersampling with that still do 90-120 FPS at 4k even on my shitty Vega.

You've heard wrong
It depends on the panel not just the refresh rate, there are more piss panels that do 60Hz on the market than those that do 120, 144 or 240

OP these fags are just mad cause they can't do what we can. been gaming on a 43 inch 4k tv before the 1080 Ti was released, back then with two 290x's.

hating on 60 fps when console cucks still run 20-30 is retarded.

>mfw i just started a new run of new vegas for the first time in like 5 years, when i had my 280x and played in 1080p

I changed from a 1440p 165hz to 4k 60hz and wouldn't go back. I went through multiple of those 1440p monitors and they had lots of backlight bleed issues, blacks looked like a smudgy gray, it was just a garbage experience. You don't even notice the refresh increase unless you're playing first person shooters. No difference anywhere else.

4k 60 is the way to go. No backlight bleed. It just a nice crisp experience.

word, my man. I am playing through New Vegas for the first time in about 3 years, first time on PC, and it's a damn fun game. I have a PC with a Raven Ridge APU and even that can run it at 1080, but playing on the big screen at 4k is really nice.

yup. get all dem high res texture mods n sheeiiittt

oh and Lethal Headshots (2019 version by A5x on the nexus). I had a headshot mod last time around but it didn't work as well. i prefer a little more realism in my fallout.

you can go to store, buy monitor, plug it in and then in display settings pick 120hz, or 60, or 144. how do you even hack a monitor? if you mean overclock it is one setting in osd menu and then your system offers 144hz option in display settings, btw every card with dp 1.4 can run 4k/144

>muh tvs with input lag
how is it there in 2012

>12 pigeons a minute
at that rate, assuming you managed to maintain that rate without pause, it would only take you a year to become avian hitler

>43 inch 4k TV that's only like $250

>he plays games on a budget TV at 30fps at 60hz

You can have almost photorealistic (almost) graphics in 1080p if you have a rig that can handle 4k graphics
You cant have almost photorealistic (almost) graphics in 4k if you have...any rig currently on the market

Dispute this resfags.

meme

>tv
enjoy your latency

this game is ancient and 60fps is for plebs

Because you either need a 2080Ti to get playable framerates or stick to 10 year old games.

>I'm playing on a 43 inch 4k TV that's only like $250
60FPS is only good for sports broadcasts

OP is a fag, but he is right on some point. You don't need a top end card to enjoy 4k. Only turbo autists need to crank up everything to (((ultra))). Current hardware is more than capable of decent 4k gaming.
