We've reached peak phone

We've reached peak phone.

Screens can't get any bigger. Bezels can't get any thinner. Upping the pixel density/resolution no longer provides any meaningful benefit because we're already well past the point where the human eye can distinguish individual pixels. Moore's law is dead. We're already at 7 nm and 5 nm will be the last stop before silicon reaches its limit.

A smartphone from 20, 50, or even 100 years from now probably will look identical to the ones in pic related. Kind of like how a hammer from 100 years ago looks identical to the ones we have today. It's a design that can't be improved any further.

Expect the stock prices of Apple, Samsung, etc. to plummet once the public realizes this.

I think the next evolution for smartphones are better and higher quality sensors for cameras and better batteries. Expect more camera/battery related gimmicks in the next years. Other than that, you are pretty much correct, OP.

there are ways you can improve it

are you suggesting we un-remove physical keyboards to smartphones

>a hammer from 100 years ago looks identical to the ones we have today
This is patently false. The hammer has improved measurably and looks far different today than in 1919.

yeah and we haven't even reached peak axe yet either

Pic on the left is an ad for a hammer from 1920. Right is a modern Walmart hammer:

They look just about identical to me.

i didn't know they made fiberglass handled, or titanium headed hammers in 1920? I'm not even sure they made steel shafted hammers with rubber moulded handles either, maybe leather. That's ignoring gimmicks like nail magnets and board grabbing tabs

no one in construction buys hammers with the claw that curved anymore either, they're much closer to flat.

the smartphone game is about to shift from "who can make the best spec'd phone" to "who can provide the best user experience at the best price"

once xiaomi realizes the biggest phone market in the world exists and starts putting american LTE bands in their phones and makes the software experience a little better, this will fuck the game up for everyone else. xiaomi will figure this out soon i'm sure.

as far as design goes, underscreen cameras is the final evolution.

Fuck normies, ruined phone market.
There is any smartphone with removable battery in 2018-2019?
Fuck jews and fuck chinks.
