What would happen if I encrypt my swap partition?
What would happen if I encrypt my swap partition?
It would be encrypted.
you get a performance loss for no benefit
kek - so simple!
You really shouldn't be afraid of the CIA or the NSA, user. They simply want to keep the world safe, there are simply no situations where we would snoop around on your hard drive using a so called "backdoor" You have nothing to fear from these organizations.
It is by default anyways. Unless you use a shit OS.
I have 4GB and never used a /swap fite me

imagine swapping in 2019

>/swap
Swap partitions don't have a mountpoint.
Putting that aside, I've tried running without a swap partition and I found it made the Linux OOM killer a little too touchy. I agree that most people use way too much swap but I think using none is overcorrecting. These days I usually do 256MB for swap, just enough to give the OS some scratch space if it needs it without wasting my storage.
>we
>Imagine not having at least 64GB of RAM
swap its just a data dump
what do you think will happen?
Hey NSA, if you are reading this, I want to work for you, please contact me.
What are swap files senpai?
this
>t. CIA
we're all the good guys though
>we
please go back to work NSA-user
swapping is not even question of you having enough memory or not idiot
remember to drink water
Yeah, I keep a swap partition so if something eats all my RAM, I have time to kill it before my system seizes up completely. I can do Alt+SysRq+F but that might kill the wrong thing and frequently does.
lemme work for CIA/NSA if you're reading this
It would be extremely painful.
>using an encrypted swap when you're using jewtels backdoored to tel aviv and back aes acceleration
Wew lad. Save yourself the effort.

For you.
I'm configuring a kernel right now, what should I disable as a goyim? Also, sources?
Force aes to run in software.

if they want you they'll find you. if they haven't the don't want you, do better in your next degree
Glow harder
For me it was so dogshit slow it was worthless, my machine would lock up for minutes if swap would be touched. I just don't use swap anymore, unless I'm compiling chromium.
did you even read my post? swap is used even if you don't run out of memory
