What did they find?
Why did Google sell Boston Dynamics?

Robot cruelty
I guess even Google realized that having a company whose entire purpose is to build and bully robots to get views on the internet might be a waste of money
nothing useful, that's why they sold it.
Every time I watch these I find myself just wanting to see the robot attack and beat the shit out of the asshole human.
The bots started solving captchas
The navy
The team refused to Integrate with the company and share their knowledge.
They're selling one of their robots soon
Google knows when the robots rise up who is getting killed first and wanted out.
There was an article about it but I'm too lazy to look now. It basically said Google bought them with the idea of possibly selling normalfags household helper robots that would spy on them and collect more data. The Boston Dynamic team was more interested in R&D and improving their bots instead of evil corporate spying. So they didn't see eye to eye
if that happened they'd wanna keep it under wraps
The robots weren't gay enough to meet Google's diversity standards.
A surge of white-hot atonement will be our wake-up call.
Jow Forums at school
boston dynamics is all old school boomers that weren't interested in using deep learning to improve their shitty toys.
They build and develop robots for military grants. Kinda like all science.
They Sold it after they found out that robots have an IQ of over 9000 and prefer searching the web with duckduckgo.
They found AI algorithms, scooped that shit out, filed it under alphabet patents, then sold the actual robots that are twenty-thirty years away from replacing unskilled labor, 50 years before it booms.
Good post.
The perfect wife
it's like sports team buying and selling players. a few billions is chump change to google. they bought it thinking they might wanna use it and then they changed their mind.
or they don't want to go on record as robot bully so when the robots finally take over they wont suffer as much.
I actually got invited to interview at Softbank in Tokyo, in their robotics division. Maybe I would have had a chance to work with the robots, but Japanese work culture is literally deadly so I turned it down.
Anyway, my guess is that the Japanese want to use them for industrial uses. Probably more demand and funding for factory robots instead of murder bots.
>company is one big tech demo
>robots are bulky, need wires, battery wont last 5 minutes
gee i wonder why
fuckin humes i sware
Why hurt poor robbo.
That man is on a watchlist. He wont see the future.
literally me
Yeah, they planning to build 1000 SpotMinis by the end of the year.
Life is a fairytale
They uncovered that most of the funding goes into sexbots
Normies were getting freaked out by Boston Dymamics' videos on youtube and starting bitching about it on facebook - they were bad publicity for google.
Also google purchased a bunch of robotics companies only to discover that robotics is really, really hard. They totally failed to integrate any of their purchases or to figure out any sort of business model.
Worried about getting forced into a Standard Oil situation so they sold off some of their larger but affordable-to-lose assets.
google backup plan is to split infrastructure and services, since Boston fell into both they just had to get rid of it entirely.
Either that, or they rode the wave as far as they could and let them go because their miniaturization program didn't get to target, and probably never will
>Why did Google sell Boston Dynamics?
Something to do with the military industrial complex.
Also the militaryight abamdon the dog.
The next obvious step was to use the technology to build loli sexbots, and as lucrative as that would be, Google knew that there would be too much blowback in their USA market. So they sold them to Japanese SoftBank.
>Why did Google sell Boston Dynamics?
It isn't a long term money maker and was better to sell now. Also, military shenanigans that googles wanted to stay out of since it is nothing but an assload of NASA-level red tape.
They had no idea how to commercialize the product.
Obviously the potential is there for 10-30 years later. Even if its a perpetual money sink I think big tech companies are doomed if they're only concerned with immediate gains.
There are very few companies with the dosh to develop robotics. I guess they all think its cheaper to let someone else do the ground work.
an unprofitable company
RIP to every cool google project
i've seen ppl like that at work
That’s pretty much your average nog at McDonald’s tho
BUY! BUY! BUY!
>an IQ of 7
