Arch
Install Mint and mess around with it for a while just to see what a functioning Linux system looks like. Then install other distros that you're curious about. Then install Debian with KDE when you're ready to be a REAL MAN.

First post worst post. Could have at the very least recommended Mankato.
Go with Ubuntu/Mint/Debian first. They have very large app repo and documentation, but won't breakdown in your face every 5 seconds
Windows 10.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
Pop_os! Is comfy
Roll your own distro with Linux From Scratch
Manjaro
Ubuntu or Mint, everything else is a waste of time
ubuntu.com
ubuntu.com
linuxmint.com
install gentoo^W ubuntu
First take a quick look at DEs then go with manjaro with your DE of choice, it's true that you can change DEs after installing any Linux distro but you won't do that straight away
don't fall for the arch meme
openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE
Nice pasta
It wasn't.
Gentoo obviously.
pick an entrypoint distro. This boards shits on them so often (I know some of it is banter, but some actually mean it) that I used to think they were Windows lite versions. but then I had some anons convincing me to install one of them before making the leap to a more elementary distro a few weeks ago, and now after one month of using Antergos I've learned enough about it that I feel confident about using Arch. I imagine it would be the same for Ubuntu and Debian. Anyways, don't pick Gentoo as your first distro, considering that will only consume your time and won't get you anywhere
Just use Linux Mint man, other distros are rather
laggy as hell, have a look straight from the 90s, doesnt have a lot of support or packages, shits itselfs
or needs a lot of maintenance.
In this case Linux Mint is just "le bloated" and uses systemd
I use Arch but won't recommend as first distro, get Manjaro or Mint
Ubungo
Guix System Distribution with Xfce
These are ok choices but elementary OS is clearly the ideal time saving linux distribution. A proper choice on my x1 carbon, fits in well with my macbook pro and iphone xr.
Ubuntu or Mint for beginners. Lots of repositories, user friendly, easy install, out of the box compatibility, won't break unless you are retarded. With other distros you are just gonna be frustrated if you don't know what you are doing.
Do try to use the console and familiarize yourself with how Linux works though. Don't try to fall into the comfort zone.
You can move on to Gentoo or Void once you are familiar with the OS.
FreeBSD, puppy linux, artix or void. T/re r interesting and not so easy and useless as mint / debian and other shits..
Fedora, it's the only distro that doesn't feel like some NEET project. It feels like an actual OS
>macbook pro and iphone xr owner store photos of handsome men
Why am I not surprised
you should probably just start learning linux hands on instead of sitting around wondering what distro to use. just get ubuntu and stfu
>caring about feels over functionality
Yeah you sound like an iToddler
based and redpilled
Don't insult fags by equating them to Apple users. That's too far.
Mint/Ubuntu/Manjaro
