Ohnononono intel coffee lake btfo amd ryzen desktop multi single core seething

why can't amd desktop chips compete with intel mobile cpus even with similar clocks and core count?

Is it that AMD poozen processors are just discount intel's they found in the trash?

?

He is saying his benchmark is flawed because ryzen was winning and they had to "fix" it

>they did not even explain why the numbers were higher and why the change was needed.

>It's because it scored higher.

>tfw they added the isGenuineIntel string for detection.

So... Intel finally catched up with Zen+ huh?

Nope I’m saying that due to a detection and threading issue, the playing field was evened out so that AMD couldn’t just exploit a bug.

Seething.

You mean
>So, AMD finally CAUGHT up with Intel Mobile huh?

>that due to a detection and threading issue, the playing field was evened out so that AMD couldn’t just exploit a bug.
explain the bug in detail. otherwise it's a GenuineIntel-tier 'fix'

cpuid.com/news/51-cpu-z-1-79-new-benchmark-new-scores.html

>When the 1st version of the benchmark was released in 2015, it was tested on all existing architectures to check the relevancy of the scores. Almsot two years later, Ryzen was introduced, and scored - core for core and clock for clock - almost 30% higher than Intel Skylake. After a deep investigation, we found out that the code of the benchmark felt into a special case on Ryzen microarchitecture because of an unexpected sequence of integer instructions. These operations added a noticeable but similar delay in all existing microarchitectures at the time the previous benchmark was developed. When Ryzen was released, we found out that their ALUs executed this unexpected sequence in a much more efficient way, leading to results that mismatch the average performance of that new architecture. We reviewed many software and synthetics benchmarks without being able to find a single case where such a performance boost occurs. We're now convinced that this special case is very unlikely to happen in real-world applications. Our new algorithm described below does not exhibit this behaviour.

The algorithm is even explained on the page.
Now kys.

>When Ryzen was released, we found out that their ALUs executed this unexpected sequence in a much more efficient way.

>What did they mean by this?

Oh no my 2700x is 1% slower in single thread that I literally never use not even in games
By your own graph intcel have regressed in multi core as well which is a fucking kek

OY VEY SHUT IT DOWN

Can’t you read?
The other processor architectures at the time has a noticeable delay when the workload ran. The new algorithm no longer has a delay on any microarchitecture. It’s called levelling the playing field so that the workload didn’t favour AMD because of optimisations they had made. AMD cheated, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

it's true intel has higher single core perf and that isn't going to change with zen 2

HOWEVER

smt. smt that doesn't need to be turned off. intel are a fuckin joke

LMAO.
Now play fairly and watch intel BTFO you.

>>What did they mean by this?
they meant that they we OK with using a shit benchmark, as long as the results agreed with every other benchmarking suite.

Did they fix their algorithm?
No. They fixed the outcome.

>AMD cheated
lol keep justifying your shit benchmark

You can't cheat unintentionally. Cheating means that you have intent to bypass something.

It shouldn't be viewed negatively that Ryzen beat their algorithm. They're basically REEEEing that their test got beat.

I wonder if the intel processors are patched

This thread is a failure
>what is smt
>what is mitigations

If you actually make Intel cpus even semi secure they lose at fucking everything. Badly. This isn't debatable.

Intel shills you guys need to learn marketing will not fix your fabs.

>thinking AMDjeet didn’t optimise for this workload
Fucking lol

>Intel Jews calling anyone names
Watch out schlomo you might violate your SOP and lose those shekels

>What did they mean by this?
It means Zen was too fast for its own good and had to be taken care of.

wait till he posts a 9900k vs 2700x benchmark, with the 9900k being 4% faster in single threaded programs.
...but he won't mention that 9900k is a 220 Watt TDP CPU, compared with a 125 one.

meantime in the real world
and that's not even counting ryzen 3 nor security (((mitigations))).

Reading. Try it some time.

Does there exist a place that actually gives unbiased views on Ryzen vs Intel? Thanks to Jow Forums I actually have no idea what is cpu is better because of the constant shit flinging by both sides.

Yes but Jow Forums will only post pro AMD because they’re shills.

>using a benchmark that was updated right after ryzen was out so you would get lower scores.

2700x is 105W.

Oh it's that benchmark where ryzen was ahead but it shouldn't be possible so the benchmark was "fixed" again.

Why does anyone give a shit about single core performance in 2019? I can see it being a relevant 10 years ago when barely anything utilized more than 1 core per process but today even games are using 8+ cores.

why can't 7nm beat 14nm by a large margin?

> 2700x: jump from 720p to 1440p, lose 0.38& of performance
> 8700k: jump from 720p to 1440p, lose 8.44 performace
unless you play on 90s resolutions and 90s game engines, you are in for a Ryzen.
thanks, dumbposter for the help.

14nm is already beating intel's 14nm,
but intel ships a 220Watt TDP CPU against a 125Watt TDP cpu.

>167 minimum fps at 1440 isn't enough for you

The amount of people who own 240hz monitors is even smaller than people who own 144, which is an even smaller group than people who own 120hz monitors.

Seriously the cost savings and the better multi-tasking performance makes ryzen a no brainer unless you need a billion fps. But then again youre gonna get more fps from ditching the 1080ti for a 2080ti than taking intel over ryzen

Dude, everything is wrong with you.
Get a life, or a least a job, so you won't have to embarrass yourself this horribly for shekels.

Hilarious how AMDrones pretend that gaming and FPS doesn't matter, unless Ryzen is on the lead.

10+ years of Ryzen development after being sunk by Core2Duos and 3 generations of Ryzen...just to barely beat last year's Intel processors.

AMDrones take desktop CPUs seriously, when Intel themselves don't care about the desktop market since they have no real parts until 2021-2022 or ever. Even with fucked up factories and supply issues they can easily move their desktop parts to all those gook companies that are making AMD CPUs but they choose not to, they would rather throw billions to build their own factories in Portland, Israel and Ireland.

>CPU-Z benchmark
You'll get comparable results taking numbers from /dev/urandom

Desktops are already obsolete

>intel on cruisecontrol while they iron out the last few bugs in their AMD killing 7nm products
