Taking black cocks in the ass
A job in the audio/visual profession
taking black dicks up the ass.
iMac and iMac Pro are better options if you don't need over 18 cores,512GB ram, 2 or more high end card graphics or PCI-E cards.
Some Mac pro outperformance iMac Pro you need go over $10,000 dollars.
Level of earning that $6000 per day.
The iMac Pro has awful heat dissipation, you'd burn it up under any decent load.
99% of these machines will be bought by companies, I'm not really sure why would any individual need that much power
None.
Apple code monkeys are irrelevant.
I would be honored if I was assigned to work on a project where I was so important as to need to sit at one of these things instead of getting assigned to the peon iMacs and Mac Minis.
A $500 PC would do you as much good as a $6000 Apple Facebook Machine
Ain't my money. They paid to put one of these in the room, I just get the luxury of saying I'm doing work on an overpriced cheese grater.
Once again $6000 is the base starting price.
Well at an individual level I doubt anyone's doing any work that would extend beyond the base configuration.
Beyond that you really are talking strictly workstation-tier applications that only exist in enterprise-level settings.
Lol if you have to ask, you shouldn't consider buying one. You'll probably be fine with whatever shit it is they sell at Best Buy.
500 dollars pcs dont have new xeons and professional grade gpus in them or ecc ram you absolute fucktard. I get its overprice shit but dont talk like a fuckin idiot just to fit in
Whats going to happen is that in a half a year or maybe 1 year, they will introduce a version of this Mac and the monitor for less demanding pro users, with much more reasonable price.
This way the glory of this cutting edge machine will surround the new product. They did this a lot of times already, like introducing the thinnest new MacBook, then use the case and keyboard for the new MacBook Pro.
Why does the case look so wierd,it looks like something Apple would not design.
Having a fachina
For a large movie studio or someone who actually does HDR work and relies on this shit is cheap.
Eizo sells 4K HDR monitors for 30k, this is nothing special in that category.
Eizo even sells 5-6-7k$ greyscale monitors.
If you need professional gear money is never an issue, Vogue doesn't give a fuck about 5k for a good screen, nor does Sony Pictues... U get the point, it was never meant to be used in your moms basement while you jerk off to anime, its professional gear.
a job that doesn't involve computers
because no real work is done on a Mac
I can see you're the codemonkey.
Adobe and video work is most comfy to do on Macs, and companies really use these fuckers for work.
MacOS hasn't been the primary platform for Adobe products for over a decade. Also no one uses ProRes, and many studios and a lot of TV production dumped Final Cut Pro during upgrade cycles when FCP didn't have multicam back.
the only people still producing on MacOS are people with brain damage and stockholm syndrome, and bad DJs who own a Macbook Pro as their only computer
Is rich parents a skill?
Imagine being this upset about a brand you don't like.
why would you even bother with product that will actually fail, they are passing like 400w through the pcb rather than a cable just so it looks nicer, the motherboard will last you like 2 years at max and their processor is already outdated just shows you how slow they are designing their motherboards.
At this point they should drop "designed by apple" and let other do it for them.
Yes
Will Windows drivers exist for the custom gpu solution?
If you decide to run Windows on it.
you need a degree in stupidity first
Just put together an enterprise workstation for half the price and install MacOS if you're really that desperate to use a Mac for work.
The only thing worth buying is the monitor. The Chinese will be selling perfectly good stands for 50 USD at most the week after it launches.
>trusting the Chinese with voiding your warranty to save $200 on a $5000 monitor.
Retard.
Imagine confusing mockery and laughter as being upset.
>trusting the "official" Apple product from China not to fuck up your $5000 monitor and void your warranty anyways.
Imbecile.
You're a moron if you think the $6000 dollar Apple branded toy put together from bottom shelf hardware is in any way a professional machine.
You need $6000 to run macos. I'll stick to my optiplex hackinturd for my shitposting needs.
We laugh at idiotic things.
want proof? just look at the apple conferance when they introduced the 999$ stand. everyone in the audience laughed.
Anything that earns you enough not to worry about the price
this would've been an apple parody like 10 years ago
>Just put together an enterprise workstation
Retard.
Apple probably arranges ahead for BootCamp shit to be in place when their stuff touches down.
Fucking men you stupid fucking Apple faggot
I don't think it's THAT bad.
It's hilarious watching people rant about professional/enterprise vs consumer hardware.
Having literally worked at a handful of tech companies who have this segmentation.. let me tell you something.. there isn't shit that's pro about that hardware... and when I say that I'm referring to equip that runs $80-$120k a pop. Some companies literally got busted dropping consumer grade shit in them that cost about $800 and charging $8k for an upgrade. Meanwhile some shithead on /g thinks there is a legit reason for the upcharge.. no faggot they charge enterprise that price just because they know they can and for shit tier service agreements that allow them to fire their IT staff. The hardware is the same shit off the assembly line as consumer shit.. in some cases, not even QVL'd above consumer checks.
I bet it was a Jony/Tim Apple "Trading Places" type bet for a dollar whether or not they can charge $1000 for stand.
"They'll never go for it."
"They totally will. It's a status symbol"
"We'll sell like 5 of them"
"They cost like $50 to make! It's pure profit!"
"They're going to laugh at us!"
"We're going to laugh all the way to the bank!"
I'm just laughing at how out of touch you are. You don't realise the politics involved in business. It's like you've never lived in the real world.
This is Monster Cable-tier thinking.
It's reality. You need to get a grip.
imagine being this retarded and ignorant
What particularities has an apple setup for that special job that other brands lack?
This is the core of the argument that never seems to get answered.
Especially in 2019 where platform agnosticism is a big trend in the software industry.
macOS, thunderbolt, Apple support, the new GPU configuration on the Mac Pro will be another factor. But your bias is showing. You're starting with the assumption of not using Apple.
Big studios don’t even use Macpros. Lucasfilm and ILM used cheapo PC rigs.
>tfw spent all my money in a Mac Pro now i can’t afford a monitor, stand or a place to live or food to eat
You are aware that RIGHT NOW you are posting in a thread with people that defends not only Apple but also their prices. This people exist and they are here.
Professional retardation.
I'm just sick of consumer tech plebs being out of their element so badly. People actually compare their toy gaming PCs to enterprise workstations.
Will this Mac Pro double as throttling space heater?
AHAHAHAHAHA
If you have a use case for that thing you will not be getting the basic $6000 model.
>professional grade gpus
Oh shit bois, Apple took an underclocked RX 580 and swapped the drivers, now it's a PROFESSIONAL GPU.
Fucking moron.
Amd did that not apple fucking retard lmfao
Well how much cheese do you need grated?
Imagine literally approving the photo in
Why not? Find me another machine with similar specs that as as much upgrade headroom as that thing does. $6K to get in the door isn't that bad when you've got a unix workstation that can go up to 28 cores and a terabyte and a half of memory.
This isn't a practical argument to have. What you're buying in the $6000 Mac may be overkill for most use cases a computer of that caliber could have. Making a 1:1 machine probably wouldn't be cost-effective for the actual performance necessary to execute tasks even close to that level.
Nigga what? You can buy all components this thing has for 3000-4000. And what does upgrade headroom even mean?you can upgrade every regular workstation computer
Kek.
Unless they add some DRM nobody will ever know
You and most of Jow Forums have it backward. Apple and Blackmagic are competing with $40k broadcast HDR monitors. At those prices, the workstation is "free".
They're selling modular HDR ref systems that scale anywhere from $5k to the price of a BVM. Nobody's done that before, it was either full price or nothing. And now you get a workstation to boot.
none
they just need money
your IPS macshit can't even begin to compare to OLED reference monitors
back to your designated shitting street Rakesh
Oled monitor for general consumer when?
That's a big yikes from me, imagine paying the Apple tax.
apple thinks its the 1990s again when companies had monopolies in the industry. im sure they'll sell that shit anyways though, plenty of morons out there that don't know any better with money to burn.
Dell
>What professional skills
The ones that pay at least 100g a year after taxes.
It's called VA
BenQ GW2270, for example
B-but Chinese surveillance chip, Mac Pro is Pentagon approved.
>you shouldn't consider buying one
Nobody is doing that
those monitors look really good desu, I'd probably buy one if it was 1/5th the price and came with the stand. Is there anything comparable?
I never even mentioned the monitor. I have no idea about professional monitors are like and only talked about the workstation PC so I have no idea why you bring that up. And yes you can buy the workstation components for half the price. And you can upgrade them just as well.
Linus tech tips literally priced out the 6k machine base model and it was like a 4 grand up charge for the mac lol
good companies don't waste money, so instead of this anyone would bought 999$ pc with exact same power
Maybe if you put it together from gayman components.
Similar specced HP Z6 series is like $6k. Hp dreamcolor display another $3k.
Dunning Kruger's level 72
i mean i am upset that apple makes expensive poop instead of actually making quality premium products for professionals like it used to do
That looks like a cheese grater/ garbage can.
It's about workflow. People who are bound to using macOS are either gonna use the trashcan or use this, the mac pro isn't for consumers and the starting price tag very much indicates that.
Telling someone who edits 4k video to switch to Windows to save shekels when their entire workflow relies on FCP to do anything is nonsense, they'll either be using a trashcan mac or a high end iMac Pro, this tech caters for those people not neckbeard NEETs on a Tibetan spear fishing forum.
Not the pinnacle of industrial design but workstations look pretty shitty these days in general.
You I Itoddlers are so pathetic. Imagine paying 6000 dollars for a toy. I have never so much as touched an apple product. My brother bought an iPhone and I smashed it with a hammer. Told him to use the warranty to buy an S9. It's funny how defensive you get over your little itoys too. I was texting a girl and she mentioned she had an iPhone. I told her I dont date retards and blocked her.
VA is a specific version of LCD
The ability to use it for 6 years between upgrades.
Hey, it's less than $3 a day, what are you, poor?
Apple likes to buy multy-platform capable software and products and kill the support for windows & linux, forcing users to change to the Apple platform.
e.g. en.wikipedia.org
en.wikipedia.org
etc.
If the software you're using runs on different platforms the only advantage of using Apple products is an unsubstantiated feeling of superiority.
(based on Apple being able to sell marketing as "innovation" in a way that makes stupid people think Apple "innovations" are Apple inventions)
On the hardware side the difference became neglectable when Apple switched to intel processors around 2005, the genius Apple innovation of creating computers 4 times as fast as the previous PowerPC based Macs that were advertised to be twice as fast as anything Intel based ... in benchmarks selected by Apple to show the only performance that truly counts,
making apple workstations the same as Wintel stuff that dominates the Workstation market since Intergraph challanged SGI .. with the exception of Apple users only being able to choose from a limited amount of hardware configurations within this spectrum.
> You'll probably be fine with whatever shit it is they sell at Best Buy.
So are the ones considering an Apple workstation.
Is the joke that apple destroys their old products after a year with malicious updates and timers?
Ugh, Jow Forumswoosh
fpbp
How is an AR demo a parody?
So hardcore
I really want a Mac desktop tower but I'm not a video editor and so the new Mac Pro is totally totally useless.
I know they call it a pro line, but are the only pros and apples world working with heavy video files?
thank you, fuck these apple hating basement virgin faggots
There's a lost article from The Onion in here somewhere.
