Just look at old Elite for BBC: simple wireframe graphics and it was massively engrossing. Or check out Skooldaze for Spectrum: simple sprites and primitive graphics that captivated you for hours.

All on 8-bit computers with pitiful audio and max 64 KB RAM. Those were the days.

nothing. literally nothing. it's just nostalgia. today's videogame CGI are better in every imaginable way.
