Lots of people have been complaining about the captcha lately and I agree 100%. Within the last week or so something happened and it's now almost unusable. It'll tell you your choices are wrong when they're not, the time between new tiles appearing somehow seems longer, and sometimes it takes half a dozen rounds of selecting crap to finally make it admit that you're wrong and need to start over. I'd bet hard money Google modified something to make it annoying very recently.
You can't. There's no better free alternative and it does in fact greatly reduce spam and bots. I guess if anyone wants to think about how to monetize it, the idea of a less annoying captcha is up for grabs.

Solve the audio CAPTCHAs instead of the image ones. I find them much easier to solve most of the time, and at least they are using them to transcribe YouTube videos, not for training self-driving tanks.

They fuck different people over intermittently. I refuse to do cuck Captchas ("keep clicking until there are none left", any of the targeting ones where it's one picture split into squares) and once I couldn't post on Jow Forums for literally about four months because it would only give me those. Now, I often just get a tick right away without having to do anything. I have not made any changes to my browser or operating system; it's just your turn to get cucked.
