Is there any downside to using Vivaldi?

The UI is better than all other browsers, and I can install adblockers, scriptblockers and other useful addons.

High ram usage and questionable optimalization
Been using it for 2 years now

its really slow

chromium based

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on the RAM usage. I do all my browsing from a VM and I switched from Firefox yesterday.

It gets slow when you have a lot of tabs open. It's gr8 otherwise.

OOOOF

I use it
it gets its fair share of retarded annoying bugs like ctrl-f crashing the program and now the pdf viewer shitting the bed but I'm too used to it to switch now

>No cross platform sync
Into the trash is fucking goes.

>cross platform sync
What is this, and why does it matter?

> Non-free software
Into the trash it fucking goes.

People own devices with more than one type of CPU architecture.

fuck off larper

botnet
closed-source
slow
Firefox is better

>there any downside to using Vivaldi?
Absolutely.
JavaScript UI so it's slow as fuck.

vivaldi is not closed source stop larping

>firefox is better
>firefox ui is javascript
idiot

Vivaldi is not slow at all, it's among the fastest browsers

Not ungoogled

Vivaldi is ungoogled

non-free pig disgusting

>firefox is better
Show me where I said that?
Vivaldi is slow as fuck compared to Chrome/Chromium, because of the JS UI it has on top of Chromium. The developers themselves are pretty open about that too, they already stated that Vivaldi will never be as fast as Chrome.

>Is there any downside to using Vivaldi?
it's just yet another chromium browser instead of being its own thing

still using it over pozilla tho

please link that quote as there is absolutely nothing in ui that takes any noticeable amount of time to load, it's 2-3 toolbars and a sidebar.

Install Vivaldi

It's not Palemoon

>chromium based
also this.
after edge died there are only two important browser engines left.

more like chromium, BASED

It's great other than it is slow as fuck when making YouTube videos full-screen.

No FIDO U2F support

Attached: 1556509974519.gif (360x240, 1.57M)

how can it be slow as fuck when it's using the same rendering engine as chrome

It's not the rendering engine's fault, it's how the application does redraws or something.

Vivaldi vs Soros funded fraud browser

rendering engine does redraws genius

it's freeware

yeah, stay free as in freedom mlady and use lynx

It doesn't mention the Inox patchset, Iridium or Ungoogled-Chromium patches anywhere on their website. How can you be so sure?

No downsides whatsoever, unless you are a seething freetard of course.

Never did figure out how to get magnet links working on Vivaldi, but it's handy in a way to keep that on a separate browser.

Vivaldi has no Containers. Into the trash.

why would it have such a retarded superfluous feature. if you need to hide your porn habits you have private mode, if you want to separate identities use profiles.

Are you literally retarded? It has nothing to do with porns but with tracking but it doesn't surprise me that a retard like yourself doesn't understand anything about it.

also
>using multiple accounts on the same site

Thank you for proving that Vivaldi users are casual retards.

>When you install Vivaldi browser (“Vivaldi”), each installation profile is assigned a unique user ID that is stored on your computer. Vivaldi will send a message using HTTPS directly to our servers located in Iceland every 24 hours containing this ID, version, cpu architecture, screen resolution and time since last message. We anonymize the IP address of Vivaldi users by removing the last octet of the IP address from your Vivaldi client then we store the resolved approximate location after using a local geoip lookup. The purpose of this collection is to determine the total number of active users and their geographical distribution.

>use profilesl

>launching an entire Chrome instance just for that
absolute state of Vivaldifags

you're an idiot, point of private mode is removing tracking

>multiple accounts on same site
oh nos, my ip is somehow magically changed because i use "containers"

>he still doesn't understand what containers are for

what servers do I need to block in my hosts file?

Vivaldi is solid unless you're a RAMlet. Great browser. Would say my ranking is currently at Firefox Dev > Edge Chrome > Vivaldi > complete shit > Chrome.

Granblue lags in Vivaldi.

Holy shit, how?

Only relevant response in this thread.

Lots of graphical glitches and performance issues when it comes to Vivaldi's unique features. Devs are very unresponsive.

t. never installed vivaldi
