Found out I have around $1500 lying around and want to buy a projector to watch media and play vydia and code from the couch.
Is picrel the best I could get? Why are all the projectors still on Mini-USB instead of Type C? Is power consumptio as abysmal as I was led to believe?
Also, what about those laser ones? Are they truly superior or basically a gimmick?
Evan Allen
Just get a vr hmd which has little to no sde, odyssey+ or valve index etc. The future is now, well rather September old man
Daniel Anderson
While I think that HMDs are the future and want to write a proper WM/DE for one it the future, all I have to drive it is a shitty 4th generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon.
I'm afraid that it would be a miserable experience.

Everybody just uses their TVs?
Asher Lopez
I don't think anyone outside Germany calls them "beamers".
Tyler Ward
No idea. you can get a 65 inch TV for less than these $1500 projector with 1000x better quality.
I am looking for a projector that can play my music over hdmi without starting the lamp. Does this exist? I just want to have an device to watch movies or listen to music from my kodi box
Jacob White
Give me some of that money
Charles King
Look up projectors from AliExpress and save yourself a grand. I decided I didn't need one but that's how I found way cheeper projectors.
Ayden Brown
They are superior, but real ones cost an arm and a leg.
Oliver Walker
tfw you just bought two 75” TVs for $869 each
Gavin James
TVs are inconvenient. You can place projector next to the laptop without a need for a fucklong cable.
Adam Perez
Exactly. These new large screen TVs are extremely cheap today.
Grayson Davis
Projectors can't do HDR
Jaxson Hill
>Projectors can't do HDR But OP literally says 'HDR' in it's description.
>There's these wonderful things called TV stands >Non-adjustable height/tilt Sure, super convenient. >You know these TVs also support casting? Are you trying to say that casting is as convenient as plugging a cable in?
Blake Adams
>Non-adjustable height/tilt It's a TV, not a monitor you're supposed to set and forget >Are you trying to say that casting is as convenient as plugging a cable in? It's more convenient
>It's a TV, not a monitor you're supposed to set and forget Yet you can't set it properly due to fixed height and so on. That's why I was going on about drilling the walls. >It's more convenient Elaborate. Cable means all the standard modes (second screen, main screen, cloning and so on) with a single button click and is independent of anything. How is casting better in any way?
Dominic Barnes
Why do you have a problem with that?
Jaxon Morgan
>search what video you want >push cast button You shouldn't be using a TV or projector as a PC monitor
Evan Wright
Text rendering, sipshit
Carson Rivera
>search what video you want >push cast button Once again, how is this more convenient? >You shouldn't be using a TV or projector as a PC monitor Why not?
What with it? 4k of the projector should be good enough for text, taking distance and size into account.
Tyler White
Resolution doesn't matter, text doesn't render well on projectors and TVs set up for video
Samuel Adams
Yeah, it was pretty cool when all I had was a 30 inch TV in my room but I had to buy blackout curtains, now I got a cheap 65 inch 4k walmart TV for $430 and I haven't used my projector since
Aiden Reed
>text doesn't render well on projectors and TVs set up for video Why? They still have pixels.
Cooper Green
>I had to buy blackout curtains What was the brightness of your projector? Also, in Germany every house has external blackout curtains.
