what amp is that on the bottom shelf

That only looks comfy if you've never actually been in a place like that. Sure, you can heat up the main room, but your bedroom will be freezing by midnight

whoa

Is it always the same OP making this shit thread?
Same nonrelated pic and same shit title.
Why?

what kind of dac do you use

Next thread im making it not fucking gay. Maybe than it wont die after a day.

It's a Pioneer A-88x
Thanks

very cool
I love high end integrated amps from the era. They all seem to have a similar style Sony 700/800es, Sansui AU-D9/D707X, Luxman's from the era. They all just scream high quality and high end

Agreed. In my village house, I got a Luxman receiver.
R-1030

i was bidding on a 700es sony but i got away. Im looking at a sansui AU-D9 right now and im not letting it get away.

Though my main setup are two sony N55ES power amps in mono config

It's dumpster dive thread anyway, so why bother? There are only a few people with interesting stuff here.

Had both, both were nice.

Sexy; didn't know Pioneer had a period of this style.

An inexpensive standalone DAC like a Topping DX3 chained to your Krells may improve your speaker performance. They're like $150 to $125 used. If you have an advanced CD transport, then nevermind, haha.

THOSE PLANTS ARE FUCKING UP UR ACOUSTICS

SLASH AND BURN

I remember my dad had a Luxman receiver. It was weird. You turn the knob and when the frequency was strong the button resisted or something...

Anyway... later my parents bought marantz. The Luxman ended up broken and in the loft.
Later i put it on the internet to see if someone gives a few bucks for it. Because the whole set didnt worked or didnt test anyway. Some crazy dude bought the shit.

>THOSE PLANTS ARE FUCKING UP UR ACOUSTICS
The more concerning issue to me is that those ferns are placed in direct sunlight. Ferns do not grow in the sunlight, they only grow in the shade... which is why they all are drooping down towards the ground (growing away from the light).

Get a proper house plant or put those in the corner away from the sunlight you brainlet.

Oh yeah he also had some STAX ear speakers. Still got them but the interface is oldfasioned. Maybe i can sell them too. hehehe moneyzzz

Based

nice to see big speakers get enough room to breathe

The Pioneer SX-1280 did the resistance to tune thing you could spin the knob and once it hit a strong signal it would resist and stop tuning. Tube amp, a total audiophiles tuner/receiver...

I've still got one somewhere but I bought an even nicer Pioneer Elite in the early 90s. Both still work to this day and if I did not use the remote control on my Pioneer Elite so much I would probably still use the SX-1280

Thanks - I actually have the speakers on loan. I'm trying to upgrade.

I used to own a sansa clip, but the thing broke, i have to admit, i took two years and heavy usage, border line abuse.
And unfortunately i haven't been able to find something quite like it, i even tried to buy one from ebay, but i got robbed by the mail.
Now i exclusively use mi phone with a 64gb micro sd card and power amp.
I kinda miss my sansa clip.

What do you listen to?

Looks pretty dangerous to have the filters out in the open

Jazz and acoustic guitar, mostly.

they're just brag threads.

let this thread die, we need to start a new, proper one

Pic not related.

i have had decent luck a thrift shops/flea markets. But all my best/main stuff have been from local shops at like a 10-20 dollar ebay markup.

I think they moved away from these designs in the mid 80s.

Attached: 767552710aa56f4a99f2c4d69f3b7192.jpg (580x396, 36K)

so i have been looking at both a pair of B&W CDM1 and CDM2. both seem to have solid reviews and both cost about $350. The problem with the CDM1 is that some repainted so its not the original paint and its pretty beat up. My question is, assuming i dont care about looks, which one should i get, and how hard would it be to repaint the speaker.

How do those DM-310s sound? Do they have the refined B&W high end?

>CDM2
i'd go with the CDM1, but with original finish

Oh yes they are great and I can understand lyrics better because everything is so much more well-defined. They are surprisingly faithful in the low end but I'm paranoid about cranking them up too much. That's what the mitsubishis are for

Attached: mitsubishis.jpg (1280x960, 190K)

think its worth about 450?

perhaps ask the seller to take pics of the woofers
the main concern is woofer surround degeneration and "dents" in the metal tweeters
its hard to find this model without dents in the tweeter

if the drivers are good its defnitely worth ~$400 and you could resell for that much
$450 maybe/maybe not, because of their age

i mean its 50 bucks shipping so i dont really have a large amount of leway.

The woofers and tweeters dont look bad from the limited pics. My question is that it says everything is in near mint condition. so if it isnt, or at least if it doesnt sound good, would ebay buyer protection help me out.

love the design of this but apparantly its a piece of shit the amp is

Attached: wa.jpg (1280x720, 110K)

Speakers look very weird, what are these?

Why you would waste your money on things that at this age most probably belong to a garbage bin?

Yeah but it's fucking shit.

DX3 ain't a standalone DAC. That would be the D50.

Everything but the gunpla is shit in this pic.

How is it not stand alone?

>white
>is gagging to get fluids spilled on her
>thicc enough
>nice ear
>enough room to grab onto yep, thats a fine teacup right there

What do you use?

Some early 90's pioneer. Just as shit without the sleek looks.
It's an amp combo unit. D50 is a true stand alone.

Can I get a free counseling session please? I can't afford therapy.

>tannoy
You'd think you'd see them more often

what's a good price for Pioneer A-88x?

There's a whole wild story how they came in my possession. My old speakers, JBL Ti5000 limited edition, are on another system. Will post pics of those, once finished.

OP is shit for starters, and most people here doesn't care about quality anyway. It's hard to tell that this is an audio-related thread from OPs pic and the post doesn't contain anything that can spark a conversation. It's more or less just a fag who starts the same thread over and over again and hopes that others will post in it.
Pretty much this as well, plus one autistic Dynaudio fag.

>JBL fag also posts McIntosh
As expected of a tasteless pleb.

Saw the guy posting his, and now you want one huh?

Underrated amp. Tons of clean power. Gets overlooked because it isn't a 70s silver face. The source switches suck, though. They get dirty easily and are tough to clean. I doused mine with D5 while I had the front off to clean the pot and I think it worked.

What's wrong with McIntosh? More than being very common.

yup

Anyone know if there is a major difference between a sansui AU-D9 and AU-D11? Is the AU-D11 better in everyway or is there something that would make it worse compared to a AU-D9.

Got that cheap amp from thomann today (pas 2002pca). Well, it works, can't say much more about it yet.
Also a convenient speaker connection, i like that.

I was looking at that but there was no mention of it being available in 120V. Then I got distracted by Yamaha Pro amps.

Attached: 3f76b71551c95862ad6483c11bb20f9a.jpg (1600x1063, 259K)

the 11 has higher power output and it also has double the capacitors (4 for the 9, compared to 8 for the 11), suggesting that the 11 can handle head-banging passages much better without suffering undervoltage

it also looks better inside

that unit is a beast

Attached: 786590-yamaha-pc2002m-professional-series-power-amp.jpg (800x600, 83K)

Yup. Look how massive that transformer is. I think they were based on the high-end consumer M-2 model. I have other amps to play with but I'm keeping an eye out for one locally for a decent price.

I appreciated this post.

an acoustic guitar

they made some awesome ones in the late 60s too, I have an sx-770

Attached: 1487327-pioneer-sx770.jpg (1200x801, 89K)

somewhere between 150-175 is probably fair, 200 if you really want it.

Sadly, not worth restoring one at that price. Pioneer used a lot of boutique caps in these.

Attached: Cambri_Aud_lifestyle_opt_04.jpg (1280x720, 158K)

Teufal Massive, too bad I can't get another pair over in burgerland. They got knocked off while mowing my lawn and fell right under the tire so I drove over them before I could stop. They still work fine, just needed a bit of tape and to be bent back in shape.
