Oh dear we lost another

>U series processor
Yes

The processor matters little to me.

>Prestigio SmartBook 141 C2 ripoff
Yes, you did.

I have an i5-4210U cpu and it is not worth it, unless you want maximum battery life

Yes, should've unironically gotten a Thinkpad. Much better build quality, keyboard, accessability, durability.

depends
is it a toilet time laptop? or everyday use one?
If latter, kill yourself.

The hierarchy goes like this from best to worst:
Thinkpad
Thinkpad Edge/E series
Lenovo Legion
Yoga
Thinkbook
Lenovo V series
Ideapad

what laptops even have a non u version?

Yes.
t. Ideapad 320 user

'xatcly

dont have a working laptop atm. should I fall for the meme and get a thinkpad?

depends which Thinkpad
also depends on whether you actually need a laptop, don't just buy one if you don't need one
but if you get a relatively new generation, with at least 8GB RAM, an SSD and a 1080p display they're great machines

Yes
now go back in time
and order a Thinkpad
because that's all you're good for
and while you're at it
go look for a Model M

yes

how easy/hard is it to put linux on one of those x series thinkpad chromebooks?

don't buy a Thinkpad Chromebook
don't buy a new Thinkpad
buy a refurbished Thinkpad on Ebay
either get an X series if you want a small screen (12 inch)
or a T series if you want a bit larger screen (14 inch)
get at least the X220 upwards (X230, 240, 250 etc)
or the T420 respectively (T430, 440, 450 etc)
get an SSD at any cost, no hard drive, it's gonna be slow as fuck
and at least 8GB RAM
should be cheap to get
and installing Linux on these machines is no problem at all

I was only thinking of that route cause I could pick up a refurbished one for like ninety bucks. what's a decent price to pay for say a t series in good condition on ebay? just something to use as a reference

depends which model and where you are. here in Germany you can get a T450 with an i5, 8GB RAM, i5 and 250GB SSD for under 300€
if you plan on using it as your main machine I'd definitely recommend you get a model with a 1080p screen, that can cost a little bit extra

>Asking after the fact.
Kill yourself you mouth-breathing, brainless, consumerist sheep.

dont NEED it but I would like a laptop for light use browsing, music, videos etc. last one was a sony and a dell before that

Jesus. It's like you want a shitty computer.

You could have bought Pic related instead.
Core M processor
8 GB RAM
1920X1080 IPS touch screen
God tier keyboard
Aluminum construction.
14" screen in a 13" chassis.
All for the same price you paid.

Forgot Pic.

forget the ebay route, by the time you find something that isn't garbage, pay shipping and pay for upgrade parts you're spending way more time and effort than just getting a decent refurb laptop from newegg or something

old laptop was a vaio with i3 and it worked perfectly fine until the charge port took a shit, can repair it but don't really want to.
