This is why you install LTSC

bluepilled as fuck.
Install linux (pick your own flavor surfing here or on youtube)

I've done this. I've done all the workarounds. They still get into my system and auto-update shit.

you tried group policies?
there you can disable it.

that means you did it wrong idiot

Even that didn't work. Last update as of April 2018 indicated they removed the option to disable it in settings.

Imagine using an operating system that is literally malware

LTSC :tm: here, no signs of cancer on my windows machine

The sooner you migrate to Linux the faster you will solve all this bullshit.

>Note: The change impacts Windows 10 Pro systems only according to reports. Enterprise or Education systems are not affected
That's why you do this fucking idiot

>not having ltsc
>not disabling auto update from core
>not using WUmgr for updates manually
OP IS proven to be a faggot

*Ltsb

Or just Enterprise on Education. Even Pro is consumer trash where GP edits don't work. Been using W10 Education for about 3 years now with minimal issues.

>wintoddlers have all these ridiculous issues and random fixes that they had to spend hours searching on the Microstreetshitter forums
>then go on to complain about how SOME select few linux distros need to be configured after installation and that thats too arcane for them
>HAHAHAH DUUUDE you need to read a wiki to do that??? hold up windows wants to update again after i explicitly turned it off last time, lemme just pull up my proprietary windows "privacy" application that adjusts random settings that i don't even know what they do, anyway now that thats taken care of I can make fun of you linux LOSERS for having to install a wifi driver KEK!

its actually hilarious how there are people suggesting that OP reinstalls an entirely different OS to disable a start menu search option

nope, LTSC

>now there's no way to turn off Bing™ search results
What?

only until the next "feature update" re-enables it

I don't remember any feature update enabling web search. No web search on my 1903 system either.

Bro I installed ltsc 2019 and I have this weird issue where windows+left/right won't do snapping, instead it changes the screen brightness like a fucking laptop. Plz halp

just drag the window to the side my boy

ask for a refund because of this bullshit

WTF, I installed LTSC 1809 and update is suggesting that I upgrade to 1903 beta. How is that even possible?

Hi sir my name is tyrone from Microsoft Support.

I’ll help to fix your problem sir. You need to tweak regedit sir.

Open a notepad, paste dis:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
"CortanaConsent"=dword:00000000
"AllowSearchToUseLocation"=dword:00000000
"BingSearchEnabled"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search]
"ConnectedSearchUseWebOverMeteredConnections"=dword:00000000
"AllowCortana"=dword:00000000
"DisableWebSearch"=dword:00000001
"ConnectedSearchUseWeb"=dword:00000000

now save it as “disableStartSearch.reg”

Double click the file run it and restart.

Good day sir

You have to do it via registry now. Had same problem last week.

This is so true. I used an old hard drive to dualboot Windows 7 and Ubuntu to get comfy with it. After one month I never started the Windows system. Recently I bought a new SSD and installed kUbuntu 19.04 on it. The Windows disk is formated and now used as Backup storage.
I'm glad I took the step forward before the official support for Windows 7 ends. Honestly I should have done it earlier...
