do any of you guys ever understand why people don't put their radiators outside of their cases? it makes so much more sense to transfer heat from inside to outside of your case imho

Your case is basically ambient temperature inside.
It makes it hard to transport, and overall something 1.5 width the case is not exactly the smallest thing ever, making positioning of your unit that much more difficult
it looks like shit?
looks like shit and adds way to much to the width of the case for hardly any benefit. this is a brainlet move
Generally the point of the case is to contain the computer's components
Is there even a tangible temperature improvement for this to be worth doing? I'd like to see some numbers.
way louder on the outside
It's much louder. I would only do that if I had a passive radiator.
Absolute genious lad. I'll be buying your external radiators as soon as you make them available
or a big one. 200mm fans mean much less rpm
But I do? All of my cases have had pipe holes.
Did you really ask something this retarded?
i put my heatsink in the freezer
checkmate thermodynamics
External radiators used to be a thing 15 years ago.
>that big
>one tiny radiator inside
kek
Why not go all the way, and put the radiator outdoors, or bury it underground?
so a radiator outside the case seems that extreme to you?
It's just not practical. The radiator will be more prone to damage and the fans will tend to suck stuff in. You'll have to prop it up with something. As previously mentioned, it's loud. The case fixes all of that.
If you really still don't get it, then go ahead and do it, and you'll see for yourself how inconvenient it is.
Already have a few. The one on the ground has a stand.
Got a photo of the ground one?
Why is your pc in the basement? Is that your room or your cave?
There is some proof of concept case by some european company that has its entire side as radiator.
Same reason they don’t put them outside a car.
>why is user in the basement
gee i wonder, it's a mystery
Just hook into a huge passive radiator instead at that point, probably about as restrictive and a lot quieter at the end of the day.
desu, liquid cooling (both aio and custom) are totally useless compared to air cooling, but if you keep the radiator outside probably it makes sense.
dude, you are asking people with little imagination, no basis for their comments, and no fucking science to backup their claims
If I had a water loop I would figure out some way to put the radiator and pump outside my window on the side of my house.
you would keep the pump inside since its the most expensive part
If someone made a modern external water cooler with quick disconnect fittings, Then it might see use with small form factor computers that get moved a lot.
They do, the issue being it's quite expensive.
also, I have two Phobya 1260s with 4 AP-182s sandwitched in between them, standing on the floor
>how cool
with about 400 watts being dumped into water temp raises about 2c over ambient
>how loud
the D5 pump is the loudest thing in it, fans run slow
>why people don't do it
it's fucking expensive
it's larger than the computer case itself
it's complete and unnecessary overkill

The consensus seems to be that they're really impractical.
>also, I have two Phobya 1260
that's a lot. i have only 1 (same brand) on the floor here
they were on an EOL clearance sale for ~180€, I thought what the hell, might be a nice project
well two might be overkill. but one definitely has allowed me to get better overclocks due to the lower temps (20c is better than 40c for more stability)
