I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000. It has been a really solid laptop for 1080p gaming. Had it now for almost 2 years.

Gaming laptops still are overpriced, underpowered, and have bad thermals. If had options would do a custom build first choice, Intel Hades Canyon NUC custom second choice, but got this and it is an OK spec:

Helios 300 works for me.
Obviously you want to prioritize a PC over a laptop if at all possible.

what games is your go to benchmark for laptops?
mine is portal 2

Bought an Acer Aspire 7 during a sale, for less than $900 it came with an i7-8750H, 6gb 1060, NVME SSD and it looks pretty nice. Only real complaint I have is that the screen can't be OC'd and it's stuck at 60hz, but for the price it wasn't bad. Slapped in a secondary SSD for storage and it's perfect for VR on the road.

Red Eclipse

i have a gaming laptop and i regret getting it a little bit but not that much. i can use it and i do. but i'm getting a desktop after i'm done with it. the screen is too small for me mainly.

look at websites if you want to get a prebuilt computer i guess

thanks, but i was just wondering about laptops too

is the 2010's hp elitebook good for light gaming

link to the specific model? you can look up the ps2 and gamecube's gpu requirements yourself but from what i've seen 5 year old laptops should be able to run them

i read these websites about the graphics card and they should be helpful

this one in particular
hp elitebook 8470p

is the 4gb ram good enough or do i have to max it to 8gb to get decent vidya

lol get stuffed :)

This is the laptop I had before I got my GT72Vr. For major AAA games it ran borderlands 2/prequel at around 20-23 fps, but there were dips into teens depending on where you were. The prequel was definitely more stable. Bioshock infinite ran pretty much perfectly into the 40's+. Mind you this was low everything. I used it mostly for the mmo's I played at the time, and the only emulator I ran on it was ppsspp. That also ran perfectly. Dunno if I'd use it now for gaming.
