can someone just copy and paste their mpv so i can run it just like that im too much of a brainlet to setup shader and all, no matter what i do there is still a lot of artifact in my animu and it bother me.

I use mpv.net

You still need to download the shaders and check if your hardware is powerful enough to run them without dropping frames.
Of course it can't make gold out of shit. A good source material is more important than your media player.

I find it funny that the only thing keeping the last thread alive was ironically mpv.net shitposting.

/mpv/ is alive

gtfo of here

Hey, pretty sure my eyes are garbage, I can't see a different when using these shaders:
glsl-shaders=~~/FSRCNNX_x2_16-0-4-1.glsl;~~/KrigBilateral.glsl;~~/SSimDownscaler.glsl

when watching 720p chinese cartoons on a 1080p monitor, am I just a hopeless cause or am I doing something wrong?

Did you check the stat page to make sure they really get applied? If so, then just stick with a less resource intensive setup. No reason to use shaders you can't perceive.

Yeah, I did check. But I see no perceivable difference to ewa_lanczossharp.. so yeah guess I'll stick with that... the only noteable improvement I get out of using sharpening filters, which I put on toggle.

Use Ctrl+S with and without the shaders to take screenshots for comparison.

>screenshot-tag-colorspace=yes
what is this?

Can I change how mpv's behavior when loading multiple files? I don't know how it chooses to order if by name or date of creation
Also is there a parameter that lets mpv open the next file in the folder automatically?

An option.

Another man of culture

If your room is warmer while watching chinese cartoons, then you are fine.

your shaders aren't properly applied if ewa_lanczossharp looks indistinguishable from FSRCNNX

Does FSRCNNX double the pixel count (eg 1920x1080 -> 2715x1527) or double both width and height (1080 -> 4k)

any good youtube browsers for the terminal? chromium's been shitting itself with hardware acceleration and for some reason mpv werks.
pic related, chromium btfo
using an amd apu btw

Both width and height.

Fuck off stax

Will it ever be merged?

what is the proper format for cover art? i have several flac and mp3 albums that fail to load the album art, whether it's named cover.jpg, album.jpg, folder.jpg [album-name].jpg (or png)

how do i configure mpv to load the album art correctly?

You have two options.
1. Tag your metadata correctly with cover art and mpv will load it.
2. Use --external-file to load it manually/semi-programmatically (with a script for instance).

>implying thats not what killed it

what's the point of this then?
--audio-display=
Setting this option to attachment (default) will display image attachments (e.g. album cover art) when playing audio files. It will display the first image found, and additional images are available as video tracks.

That tells mpv whether or not to use metadata in the files. The default is "yes" but you can force it off. Just learn how to tag your files correctly.

Last thread unironically died when the mpv.net shitposting stopped.

So the .net shill drove everyone away

how do i get mpv to play files with non-english characters in the file name?
when i try to play a file named ééé.webm it does this:
[file] Cannot open file 'D:\.webm': No such file or directory
Failed to open D:\.webm.

How do I check if a shader is on if it's off the stats screen because it's too long
