ie: V56 curb stomps the GTX 1070 and V64 curb stomps the GTX 1080 for 90-95% of the same performance

It can look good but the frame rate hit is not at all justifiable. I would rather play @ 90+ FPS at 1440p without meme tracing than sub 60 @ 1080p with it on a fucking $1200 card. Conventional rasterization techniques look like 85% as good anyways.

Nobody considered Crysis at max settings playable. Crysis also looked significantly better than anything else at the time. Target frame rates where also significantly lower. Current implementations of meme tracing hower does NOT look significantly better than traditional rasterization while having a unacceptable to modern standards frame rate hit. Once again i will say 90+ FPS at 1440p without meme tracing is a better exspirience than sub 60 @ 1080p with it on. People don't buy $1200 cards to play at console frame rates and resolutions.
