What size 4k monitor should I get?

50 inches

42

or 23-24

It depends what operating system you're using. For Windows you'll want either 100% scaling or 200%, nothing else. So 32" or higher is good for 100% (at least with my eyes).

Well I think at a minimum it should be 4k big

32" if you sit less than 3 feet from the screen

Nothing less than 27" if you're going full 4k.

Good idea.

That seems to be a good size friend.

Mine's 27" and I am very happy with it. But it will depend on
because I have seen a lot of references to "scaling settings" for hidpi (as if we were using Bitmap fonts until hidpi screens; fonts have scaled since the late 1990s). On Linux you set your monitors PPI which would be 160 for 4k at 27" and it's fine. I have the distinct impression you need to consider percentages of something on Windows so that dude may be right.

But I'm not entirely sure that matters because there's laptops with 4k monitors too and you get the size you get there. On an interesting observation about that, 1080p at 13.3" happens to have the same PPI as 4k 27".

15" - anything else is a meme

4k is a meme

go for 144p

but if your going for 4k then stick with 24 inch panel

40" to use without DPI scaling and 24" to use at 200%

What're you using it for and how far away will you be sitting from it?

4k

Watching 4K content on Youtube (mostly Korean stuff).

About less than two feet away.

It doesn't look any better on actual 3840x2160 display.

I use my laptop set to 125% and everything is alright.

I even use it connected to an external monitor set to 100% and it works fine. It just scales the windows when you move them into the different monitors.

It was using 150%. It worked fine for newer applications but I had problems with older ones becoming blurry.
