If it requires any proprietary software at all then it has one. To be completely sure though one could sniff packets. It was major news some years ago when some major chinese kb manufacturers most of these brands import from got busted for having keyloggers on them. Expect any sort of chinese electronics that isnt dumb to have some sort of bug in it, especially those no name smartphones/watches
