sxiv -a *.gif

That looks pretty comfy
good gif compatibility? no dropped frames/transparency bugs/speed problems?

whatever the default Xfce image viewer is called lol

in the browser

enjoy your shitty blur scaling and needing to have a browser open

Mozilla Firefox.

irfan view - my main image viewer

This. Although it never was good for .gif files. Playback speed is often all-wrong.

Yeah that's specifically why I don't use it.
Why should I use the by far most UI-bloated image viewer that's "supposed to do everything!!1" if it can't even play a fucking .gif right half the time

imageglass or image:eyes

What's the best one for Windows 7?
Windows XP has one built in, why did they take it out.

Imagine viewer, it's pretty good

Viewnior for normally sized GIFs. mpv for big ones.

eog

>2019
>using a browser

Xnview mp, the same thing I use to browse image folders, find similar images and duplicates, crop, resize, convert and do batch renaming and manipulations. It's like old school acdsee but free and not as bloated.
Double clicking on an image opens it with irfanview though, since it's lighter and faster.

Post the gif

ok!

the photos app on Windows 10

Thanks mate

why the fuck are you downloading .gifs

QuickViewer is the most based image viewer ever.
Open-source, cross-platform, fast, great navigation, dark mode, customizable interface.

>2001 + 18
>Still saving gif
Wemb all the way gramps

I click on them

webm is compressed, gif is pure

he doesn't have a 1TB image collection, collected through years of lurking

newfag

Alright

Yes and you can still click them

it's 2001+18 user

Your retardation #1: webms can be lossless so they gain a direct benefit over gifs
Your retardation #2: enjoy your 200x160px six second gifs with 256 color limit and file size of 4mb and ugly ass dithering

GIF also applies compression.

>webms can be lossless so they gain a direct benefit over gifs
VP9 can do lossless encoding, but from what I've seen it's pretty shit at it.

Can you make a transparent webm?

Yes, VP8 and VP9 support transparency. Unfortunately the thumbnail won't pick up on that.

Attached: GIF2WebM (with transparency).webm (1280x720, 128K)

ACDSee's GIF rendering is an absolute pile of shit, so I just post the gif on Jow Forums then click on it.

Jpegview.

Dithering is aesthetic as fuck, look at the dithered waifu and take it back!

Imagemagick opens them fine

Yes

click on icon and press spacebar

Faststone

lossless implies it's same as source
doesn't work for real life stuff
this but mpv is nice too

What kind of emo Flipnote Hatena nigger begging for virtual stars made this junk?

>lossless implies it's same as source
And? Lossless compression can still be more or less efficient based on how big the produced file is.

mpv
loop-file=inf
no-border
no-osc
osd-level=0

libvpx and libvpx-vp9 produce much smaller files than gif with same quality. i've never had issues with webms that couldn't be fixed by changing encoding bitrate and other encoder settings.

I just press Spacebar

It just works.

another user but in my experience it works without issue 99% of the time, but I have a few gifs won't play with sxiv because they're "corrupted" even though they play fine through mpv

By opening them.

shoot yourself underage

what sorcery is this?

real life is overrated desu

Attached: 1560032890486.gif (500x400, 252K)

what makes you think I'm underage?

is he ok?

I email them to myself and view them that way.

Since you also talk about VP8 encoding, I guess you refer to transparency rather than true losslessness.
Regardless, I still say that VP9 is shit at lossless compression. Perhaps better than GIF (which isn't a big accomplishment), but certainly not better than other formats like AVC, HEVC or AV1.

Windows 10.
Not using any default viewer though.

yeah, that was the point i was tryin to make.

>call someone underage

I use geeqie but its not very good: slow and lots of tearing.

wtf ... i've seen countless of gif with it mine works fine (playspeed)

I use imv
github.com/eXeC64/imv

what did you use for capturing and then creating the webm?

tell me; is there any time when you would NOT have the browser open?

Usually? Hopefully?
It's an application not an OS. If most of what you do is in a browser then your browser is effectively part of your OS. I don't really support Chrome OS rationalities.

Works perfect on my machine. Ranger also picks sxiv by default for all my image filetypes (gif included) even when I have feh installed. Admittedly, I haven't tried any APNGs yet

mpv, same for all other videos and images

JPEGview. Extremely lightweight.

Attached: jpegview_gif.png (1296x1179, 144K)

>CPU usage 100%
shit those were the days

ffmpeg them into a usable format like .mov

ShadowPlay.

i just use xn viewer

MPC. It has that nice repeat file setting for gif and webm.

Honeyview, might be bloaty but very comfy as a gallery.

with sxiv

mpv
most image viewers are trash at rendering gifs

Default Win 10 viewer

Been using IrfanView for 15+ years, literally 0 issues with gifs. Can you share the issue you're describing?

Gwenview because it's the default. I sometimes open them in mpv if I need to set scaling and such.

Firefox or ffplay
That's surprisingly fluid for flipnote studio, never did figure out how people did anything with accuracy in it
