I use a combo of both Vegas and adobe's.

The youtube pooper one.

the one you have with you

depends on what you mean by editing.. cutting clips? grading? compositing?

DaVinci Resolve will do almost everything you want.

I like Vegas Pro. If you can't afford it look at Vegas Movie Studio. Much cheaper for entry level shit.

Vegas movie is basically identical aside from removing a few specialist things like DVD authoring. Perfect for a YouTube project.

If you’re doing serious shit like a movie/multiple scenes/broadcasting, get yourself premiere. If it’s hobby projects/YouTube/game footage, Vegas or Movie Studio.

blender is good, you likely don't need everything it offers, if you're just sequencing for example
nice proprietary software, faggot

Resolve

If FOSS actually had decent software for the task I would recommend that, but I have the view of use the best tool for the job.

DaVinci Resolve is free-of-charge and works on Windows, macOS and Linux. It's basically a complete professional video production suite with video editing, audio mixing, color grading and visual effects tools all in one.

FOSS scene actually has something that is on-par in my opinion with Vegas Movie, that's Kdenlive. It's also not ported to Windows, so I used to have dual-boot to Linux out of necessity back in the days when I was poorfag. That said I got legal Vegas Pro + bunch of other goodies off Humble Bundle for $7

Try to run that and do something with it. De facto it's not.

Blender

cs188 used Premier. It wasn't all Vegas.

davinci resolve, so you're not vendor-locking yourself to a single platform

Blender with power sequencer is what i use. Haven't found anything better than it (Including paid software)

Would Blender be good for editing YTP?
Im finally off of a toaster, I never got to try their NLE before.

just be sure to use power sequencer

I think it was called Filmora Wondershare or something? But yeah that one's only good for simple cropping, trimming and whatnot for a fairly cheap price. Don't get it for complex editing though: Adobe programs are much better in that aspect.

Why does DaVinci Resolve crash every time I try to start it? It gets stuck when it tries to load Waveform Editor or something.

run it from a console and see what it prints out
