>Multi monitor
nice meme

I used to run with a similar setup but couldn't deal moving my head all fucking day, however small the movement is. Now I have a 34" 4k scaled to 3008x1692. Dem space.

Same for large/normal keyboards. I'm with a 60% keyboard because I hate moving my arm too much when going from kb to mouse.

peak productivity

Attached: 1560427947140.jpg (1080x1420, 242K)

Total resolution on the bottom is way higher.

I used to get lower neck cramps from it being stationary too long. But moving my head actually helped with it, along with elevating the monitors so my eye-level is at the bottom the screen, forcing me to look slightly up. And all my neck issues went away, slightly deviating from conventional wisdom though...

Indeed.
Looking down is probably the big neck fucker.
That said, I put my monitor above level for a bit and I was getting similar issues.
Eye level is best.

Nah, 1920x1080 is 2.07M pixels.

3x 1920x1080 would be 6.22M pixels

a single 40" 3840x2160p is 8.29M pixels

>assuming you wouldn't use 4k monitors

my comfy view....so much for being productive

Attached: new3.jpg (4032x2268, 3.34M)

with a 49" tv as a daily monitor it's not that great desu. the more i have it the more i want a wide monitor that is closer. scaling on some apps in 4k is shit. literally so shit you can't even use them.

I don't have time to explain why 24" 4k panels are not as good as a large 40" 4k panel.

I can have 4 full 1080p windows open at the same time on a 40" 4k panel, and have them all be readable and usable at a normal desktop viewing distance of about 1.5-2 feet.

A 24" 4k panel would need to be GUI scaled to 200% making it's effective resolution 1080p. It would be a sharper looking 1080p due to the increased pixel density, but you wouldn't be able to open up 4 full 1080p web pages and view them at the same time and have them all be readable at once like you can with a 40" panel.

If what you're going for is simply high pixel density for better image quality on thumbnails and pictures and shit, then sure.

But if you're after usable desktop space to have shit open at the same time for work or whatever else, then a 40" 4k panel makes a lot more sense.

Looking up at a 45 degree angle to view your top 2 of 4 Windows, is going to ruin your neck.

it's mounted on the wall at desk level, my seated height puts my eyes at about the center of the panel.

Looking up at a 45 degree angle would be looking well above the panel.

mine are...luckily...all aligned perfectly at eye level when I'm sitting in my comfy corner...
plus I can see the tv just to the left of the x220 monitor...thats what I call peak productivity...

I found a picture of my old ass setup and compared it to my current. Judge me.

i am suicidal af

Attached: workstation.jpg (1101x826, 221K)

You only get + points if you tell me that Xbox was chipped.

Not that you should care cos this isn't Reddit so call me a dirty ass fucking, kiddy fucking, granny fucking cunt no good piece of shit as well if you want as well.

not a fair comparison, going by the size of the keyboard the TV is fuckhueg and the monitors must be like shitty 17" ones

>chipping an xbox when ndure exists

Close your fucking laptop

You'll probably never know the orgasmic joys of wiping down your workspace and especially your dusty-assed thinkpad with alcohol. Try it.
What movie?

Close up of both shelves please.
Why suicidal, wuts your problem?
Also, why read all the books if you going to off your hero self?

I just prefer smaller monitors man
22" is as big as I'll go

The Xbox pictured is actually two different ones, but I still have that first one. The one in picture one is a 1.6 which I soon after softmodded. Then I got a 1.0 from a friend, which I TSOP'd, and I recently got another 1.1 from Goodwill for six bucks. I still have all three, I just wish I still had my childhood one, and the modchipped one I got after that. I currently have 3/5 of the Xboxes I've owned in life.

How much cp does have on that thing?

He vapes and has homo crap covering his walls. What did you expect?

That's what a call a child that doesn't make any money and has a hand me down monitor, hipster linux, vapes, has a razer product, and no chair.
Real cool, buddy.

Looks comfy.

Attached: setup_june.jpg (2000x1475, 1.12M)

thats why you dont get a tv and you get a monitor dumbass. yes you can get a 4k 43'' monitor

>scaling on some apps in 4k is shit. literally so shit you can't even use them.
you shouldn't need to scale anything on a large 4k panel if you're using it at the proper viewing distance.

a 49" 4k panel should be ~3.2 feet away from you.

I figured I'd finally post in here since I keep browsing these threads somewhat frequently now and also since someone mentioned the TV monitor meme. Many bad ideas done at different times were involved in the making of my current setup.

I like your Popuko and fat Optiplex

what desk is that? looks perfect

sorry user i have no clue. been trying to find out myself for a while now but there's no info

Everyone makes fun of this but 9/10 of you have disgisting living conditions. Would it kill you to clean? Quit wasting time trying out different Linux platforms and clean your shit up.

Gross. It’s just unreal to me. Dirty walls, useless clutter, disgusting cushions and carpet, mismatched dusty equipment, no pictures, or if any weird porn shit. One fag even has sharpie lyrics written on the wall. Like a high school girl, except the high school girl has better taste in interior design.

How about you idiots go to crate and barrel and get some taste.

Big yikes. You don’t need more than a i3 or Ryzen 3 for ANYTHING, so if you’re poor sell your i9 and get some decent furniture, Christ.

And go to church while you’re at it. If your living space is that gross, i can only imagine how much shit your spiritual life is. Porn, weed, and periodontal disease.
#big yikes

Decent bait but you could've waited for an actual dirty room to be posted.

Nice

bruh what keyboard is that

looks comfy, pet your cats for me user

Are you the hacker Jow Forums?

Razer Blackwidow v2. I'm sorry if this wasn't the answer you wanted, user.
Thanks, I will sir.
Tip to anyone with cats that always lounge on your desk: get a dust cover for your keyboard

>Razer
yeah I'll pass

Finally, an edition I qualify for.

Attached: bst2019jun.jpg (2048x1152, 189K)

I'm sure the brand you are loyal to will be happy. Good luck, user.

Looking forward to selling our old house so we can buy something bigger than 650sq ft.

Looks like a chill cat. Chill cats are good.

I like minimalism, but maybe get a chair.

I mean, you gasta do what you gasta do. I'd be investing in an actual monitor at some point though, that would drive me nuts.

I need to get a good uke, mine got stolen when I lived in Hawaii and I never really replaced it.

Attached: Newerest Battlestation.jpg (1920x1440, 677K)

I'm loyal to no brand, however I have a few brands blacklisted and it's not because of some internet memes it's due to my own actual experience.

this is geohotz' setup you fuckfag

>blinds on the outside of the window
thats not it bro.

>wiping your thinkpad with alcohol
not sure if trolling, but jesus christ dont do this. it will clean the rubberized coating right off.

where did you get that clock? any links?

What are the dimensions of your desk?

this lad does not comprehend irony

Productivity, he says.

I'll give it a go...thanks...
movie is Johnny Mnemonic...its terrible...i love it...

I vape so I dont smoke...I realise its lame...
>homo crap covering his walls
lol...cheers!

well I'm 32...and I act it...monitor is and always has been mine...I make enough money to not have to worry and live a good, expansive life...the mouse is a hand-me-down from work as my other broke...it works..I dont like chairs as much as a comfy corner....
I am certainly not cool...

thanks, it is for me...
perfect after a long day out and about with work to come and relax/watch the world go by as the summer evening rolls in...

>monitors in portrait layout
that's called "reading documentation layout"

haha...yeah...
I have the blind half closed when I'm in my den so I don't get glare...

I mean...I just use a duster most of the time...my flat does get really dusty though and the sun coming through really shows it up...

I see playlists on both so, just dumb

>My computer is only used for what you see me doing right here in this picture because I'm just dumb

>2 VR headsets
>4 instruments
>2 laptops
>3 pairs of headphones
>5 keyboards
>2 switches doing fuck all
>Hex meme light

>Productive
You don't use all of that every day. Clean up a little, user.

Finally fell for the RGB backlit desk meme. It's... OK? I like a soft blue with the lights out, that doesn't pick up well on camera though. Otherwise why even bother?

I'm not really sure it's worth he minimal effort and money investment though.

Also my controller is hot shit and literally has no fucking idea what the concept of "red" is so it'll never match up with my keyboard which is red only.

More pix

Shitty argument. Why not have both?

I'm retarded and can't reply properly

Not trolling. Been doing it for a long time. You may want to dilute it with majority water. Don't scrub hard.
There are two layers to the thinkpad lid. One is the top rubber very thick, the layer below is a harder paint. The hard paint is VERY tough, the top is rubbery. You obviously never scrub it with a corrosive or firmly, be gentle with a lint-free cloth.
I personally use pure alcohol. Hasn't done me wrong, but you should dilute it.

It works particularly well for old models that have deep scratches, but you have to be consistent.

You should mostly use it on keyboard, palmrest. Pic related from leddit where I first saw someone do it after researching restoring a thinkpad.

Attached: Sparkle sparkling thinkpad.jpg (5184x3456, 3.6M)

oh yeah, and be extra gentle around the four edges and especially the four corners, which are far more exposed to applied pressure.

Nice

I have a 43UD79-B too

Attached: 2019-06-12 09.39.24.jpg (3972x2110, 1.76M)

So lessons learned

1. An expensive wireless mouse is the best
2. Get either two glossy monitors, or two matte, but don't mix
3. Test keyboard switches BEFORE you buy, rather than taking people's input
4. Big mousepads are the best
5. ITX builds can include beefy hardware

Attached: CurrentBuild.jpg (2505x1381, 480K)

based celldweller

I've got a pair of JBL 4408s to accompany my hifi coming in the mail soon
very nice triple monitor setup
>using a TV as a monitor
this is a bad idea
love the bookshelves
hope you're doing alright
>optiplex
based
>TV as a monitor
>that distance
very clean but
>ipad with the pencil
how's the curved monitor?
>framing your records instead of playing them
absolute pleb tier
I like the look of that LED mousepad but man I don't think I could justify it
>Looking forward to selling our old house so we can buy something bigger than 650sq ft.
nice, I hope you get a house that lets you breathe a lot more

Attached: My_Battlestation_13.jpg (2000x1208, 710K)

>>using a TV as a monitor
He never suggested that.

There are several 43" 4k monitor panels out there.

>There are several 43" 4k monitor panels out there.
the scale on the picture threw me off, sorry. I feel like multi-monitors are better unless you have proper window management

Nice Atari with Megafile.

Move over, virgins.

>laptop

>cheap ~gayming~ mouse

>mista statue
u cool

Haven't used a monitor in portrait mode for playlists or anything related to straight audio playback since like 2014, pic related, but even then it had its uses. Neither of the portraits in my newest pic have playlists on them, so a bit confused.

>2 VR headsets
The DK1 was my first HMD from just after the kickstarter. Ended up building another desktop after getting the vive, but both the DK1 and its machine still work and have their uses, viewing models I make off the newer machine thru the old one for example, so I kept them. Actually 4 HMDs btw.
>4 instruments
Going for the multi-instrumentalist dream, user. Bass is my focus, but I have resources on learning the rest, and plan to add/learn more instruments.
>2 laptops
Use the R400 for hosting various services, and the X220T for the rest of my not graphically intensive computing, which I use the desktops for.
>3 pairs of headphones
Two are wired, and the other is bluetooth that I use on the go.
>5 keyboards
One for each host, including the little bluetooth one I use for my phone or newest rpi. KVM switches never appealed to me.
>2 switches doing fuck all
Got me there. Still learning networking from the ground up.
>Hex meme light
Pretty meme, but they're really bright considering I only hung 6 panels. Being able to control the color and brightness is pretty comfy.
>Productive
Kinda meant that in a sardonic way. I barely produce for my own benefit.
>You don't use all of that every day. Clean up a little, user.
Not absolutely every single device, every day. But most of them, most days. I've taken to using the vive as my main monitor and VNC/SSHing into the rest of my machines from there, so I even use most of my wired net simultaneously. I do try to keep it a bit cleaner than the day before though.

Ayy
