The other poster had a good thought about meeting real people. I can vouch for this, as I've started reconnecting with real life friends who I hadn't talked to in a while, and most of them are still the same sorts of people that I like to talk to.
If you mean online spaces, good online spaces still exist, but you need to put in some legwork because generally the best spots to hang out are not going to be advertised publicly, or if they are they're not going to be going out of their way to drive traffic to their community. I would suggest starting with a large community for hobby that you enjoy and doing some networking for like-minded individuals.
