Not sure what it is.

Pretty nice. Let me turn some extra hardware into a decently performant nas. Had a couple 4TB drives, some other misc small drives, and an old SSD. Threw them all into an old gaming PC from ages ago, and with the parity and cache it still maxes gigabit reading and writing, and it's easy to upgrade disks or add more.

I don't use any of the VM features so I can't tell you how well they work or don't work, but the nas portion is great.

It's objectively the best NAS OS for home use.

Into the trash it goes.

What does it do that JBOD with a non-retarded file system doesn't?

What, exactly is so fantastic about it? That you don't have to figure out how to setup a NAS yourself? It's not very hard.

>xfs
using a file-system that can't be shruk on a NAS is just stupid

Not everyone is interested in not having UI and configuring everything through a console, leave that to autistic faggots like yourself who intentionally keep things unintuitive.

Unraid is great because it's got a shit ton of support, works rock solid, and you can add drives to the array without rebuilding it. They don't even have to be the exact same type of drive with the same capacity.

Use GNU/Linux instead.

Based brainlet.

Can you stop shilling this here?

>console
no bruh, you use webui

can a zfs pool be shrunk, as in remove drives from it or install a smaller one that can accomodate the data from the larger one you're replacing?
>no
oh, okay. zfs is amazing and all, but not for

It doesn't matter if it can be shrunk because disks all contribute to the same storage pool, and all the shares exist on that same pool. There is no reason to have a xfs partition on the disk smaller than the entire disk.

Literally install Fedora Server and access Cockpit

paid non-free garbageware
if you want something thats free as in freedom with superior parity scheme, use snapraid+mergerfs
openmediavault or cockpit if you want to have a meme webui for management

go away shill

Not everyone wants to eat the fungus off Stallman's feet like you do.

Reminder that the linuxserver guys support this massively.
