I miss my 160mb ipod

I miss my Krell Vanguard.

The iPod DAC isn't the greatest. If you can get a line-out by way of a docking port connected to a different amp it would wind up sounding better.

whats the actual DAC in the old ipods

Depends on the model. iPod Videos have the best one, I don't know the exact model but it's by Wolfson.

Yes, it was Wolfson, or Cirrus Logic, and SigmaTel. Hard to say if any were better than the others, but Cambridge Audio uses Wolfson, but again, hard to say which ones were better, meaning any audible difference.

Where do you get the music much less the tape

CS42L51 -- Low Power Stereo CODEC with Headphone Amp -- Cirrus Logic
TLV320AIC3204 -- Ultra Low Power Stereo Audio Codec -- Texas Instruments
TLV320AIC3254 -- Ultra Low Power Stereo Audio Codec With Embedded miniDSP -- Texas Instruments
MP8102 -- Ultra Low Power 1.8V 600kHz Op Amp -- Monolithic Power Systems
MP8103 -- Dual Ultra Low Power 1.8V 600kHz Op Amp -- Monolithic Power Systems
TLV320AIC3106 -- LOW POWER STEREO AUDIO CODEC FOR PORTABLE AUDIO/TELEPHONY -- Texas Instruments
TS4909 -- Dual mode low power 150mW stereo headphone amplifier with capacitor-less and single-ended outputs -- STMicroelectronics

Well to get the prerecorded stuff you'll have to go on discogs or Ebay. Or occasionally record stores/ thrift stores. I got lucky and found a bunch of blank tape at Goodwill oddly.

what happened to it

I'm imagining the recordings sound blurry or garbled, or is this not the case

get back in the saddle, son

Why do people do this? Don't they realize they look retarded carrying this shit on the T?

Attached: 5839362.jpg (2592x1936, 1.62M)

Depends on the quality of the tape and recording speed. It definitely colors the sound in a way I like, others may not. Really it's just for fun and it looks cool. Must be my autism.

About a year ago, maybe more, can't remember... I purchased a Marantz M-CR611... Is it good or worth keeping or can I get something better for around the same price range?

Thanks Interesting hobby nonetheless

depends on your speakers i think
qt design

Haha - cute - how good is it as a file streamer?

hmmm nice

I have a 4tb seagate nas with about 1500 flac files. When I first try to play music from the nas there is a bit of a long pause, and occasionally it will randomly freeze.... Not sure if it is my network, the nas or the marantz...

I don't really know anything about this stuff so i just wanted to know if it was decent. I'll keep it I guess.

>this nigger still hasn't killed himself

sounds like they have to work out some kinks with the firmware; marantz is a decent brand with good sound quality and resale value

This one has some complaints about "bricking" when you try to spotify it

Purist eh?

I was thinking about getting a Primare to drive my Martin Logans but they're (the Primares) all made in China.

I always worry about the component and manufacture quality in these chinese makes. Emotiva is one of those brands with low cost but a reputation for maintenance issues.

i like these sexy litttle slender things
they play music pretty well

been 9.5 years with that model, the USB module failed quickly but the actual amp/preamp section is truckin' along.

How good is the bass output?

they sell a wide range
this one's $950 but you can get a used Krell for about the same price

audio-gd.com/Master/A1/A1EN.htm

Attached: A15.jpg (1000x702, 81K)

it does 150mw into 600 ohm and 1.25w into 80ohm, so plenty. Bass quality depends on the opamp which can be changed.

Don't you realize some people don't care what random strangers think of them?

noice

and it was $330 USD at the time

Reasonable price. Especially if it lasted nearly ten years.

Software implementation for some of these app modules with streaming capabilities is often buggy even a couple of years after the product is introduced.

VMODA M100's are the true master race under 1k USD

i dont think any device handles internet radio effectively - not even cell phones with their constant updating - too many platforms

They have a weird beehive look

tpa3116d2 board without case but with integrated bt and usb dac

Attached: goldie-memoir-publish-2017.jpg (1200x793, 144K)

Crazy rare ensemble.

>tpa3116d2
I've read that these have noise at higher volume. Do you find that this is the case?

Thanks. I'm running out of angles to post this system. The other one should be finished soon, then I'll start with that one.

I think most board/amp manufacturers (your sanwus and nobsounds etc) have moved on to newer chips now, but...
For me the tpa3116d2 is ok even at higher volumes (or with sensitive speakers on desk) when using the integrated usb dac. Bt has noise, it's bearable but not great.
I havent looked up the type but it uses some integrated bluetooth that is said to be in all the cheap usb sticks.

I lost my iPhone headphones and I need to buy a new pair does anyone have any suggestions for headphones that sound good for music but also have a mic so I can make Skype calls ?

have my computer connected to these:
B&O Beocenter 3500 with two generic loudspeakers from 80's for sound from behind
Jamo P404 for sound from front.
Glorious stereo, fuck surround.

sound blaster ae5, soundmagic hp151, equalizer apo

Interesting -- thank you.

i though bang and olufsen were meme
or is that thorens

new ones are more or less apple memetier, but old stuff has pretty good quality. Except for any plastic parts.

Might as well pick up your amp in the trash and throw your money in there.

Keep it. Marantz is absolute garbage nowadays and this amp is not bad at all.
Same goes for Sony and pionner. The only classic brand that still holds up is Yamaha.

Bass niggers need not apply.
Pussied out of getting one because of the boot loop issues LG had.

Are the current Yamaha A-series amplifiers any good? They would happen to be in my feature and price range right now with the A-S301 being only 230€. Reviews say the Onkyo A9010 is better but I hate centered volume knobs and I really need connections for two sets of speakers.

Attached: img54e1e26ec6847_l.jpg (1000x1000, 268K)

>and I really need connections for two sets of speakers
why

so that I can drive both my TV and computer speakers from one unit. not at the same time of course but I don't want to operate two units, especially because my current 30y old Sony is acting up.

Just use something with speakon and switch them by hand?
Or make some relay switch.

autists cant live without the repetition

and why would I do that when most amplifiers still have A/B speaker connections?

To support manufacturers that use a decent connector

What is it? Can you get a brighter image?
