>Doesn’t Steam use 32 bit libraries? How can I play my games? >It may be possible to run 32 bit only games inside a lxd container running a 32 bit version of 18.04 LTS. You can pass through the graphics card to the container and run your games from that 32bit environment.
But they dropped i386 long time ago. Are they dropping multiarch? Learn to put your thoughts into words, retard.

>Hardware which will only run a 32bit operating system is getting pretty rare these days and is unlikely to have enough resources to run the latest release of Ubuntu Desktop. Fucking GNOMEniggers I swear to god
Xavier Sullivan
Browsing Jow Forums landed me an internship. Doubt i could do the same if i played vidya.

>he's not backwards compatible

Does the kernel not need to provide support for 32bit mode?
Ryder Rivera
Didn't valve oficially support steam on Ubuntu? It's their duty to make their fucking product work.
Joshua Hernandez
do you even know how kernel works?
Austin Adams
I'm talking about CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION. Containers run under the same kernel so they won't help if the kernel foes not support it.
I did that this week with gentoo, I have no-multilib install and use steam from multilib chroot Also I'm not a worthless gaymer, I merely wanted to learn a new tool to prevent bloat.
Xavier Carter
Just force Valve to finally make Steam 64-bit. Alternatively trap that proprietary shitware in a Flatpak sandbox.
Aiden Hernandez
I think Valve is already working on that, under Windows some Steam processes like the webhelper are already x64.
Dylan Lopez
>>It may be possible to run 32 bit only games inside a lxd container running a 32 bit version of 18.04 LTS. You can pass through the graphics card to the container and run your games from that 32bit environment. >Just passthrough lmao Are you fucking kidding me?
Looks like no one will using Ubuntu anymore, amiright?
Zachary Campbell
slave to what?
Nathan Collins
You can run Linux and Windows. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Ayden Martin
You literally don't even pass through the GPU to the container. You literally use everything like normal. PCIe VFIO is only required if the accessing system runs a seperate kernel instance on virtual hardware, which is not what containers do.
Luis Evans
I'm willing to bet that many will move over to Manjaro lol
I hope people start coming to the fedora meme Or maybe they go to debian stable, anyways they test steam on debian rather than ubuntu if I remember correctly
Anthony Rogers
Why Valve simply doesn't switch to 64-bit libs? It's about time.
Lincoln Harris
The story is about a fox that tries to eat grapes from a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, he states they are undesirable.

>GAMES the same guys who think of ςoyntendonts when they hear about games, are the same faggots who think of buttsex when they see a masculine guy.
Kayden Davis
>Looks like it's finally time to ditch ubuntu forwarding your queries to amazon was not enough, ubuntard?
Nolan Lewis
Yes, that's why I don't think Valve will just sit and leave Steam not work out of box with Ubuntu.
Robert James
i was 12 too once

All video games are for children, except for FIFA
Jason White
Anyone smart is using Arch anyways. The newer drivers mean better performance.

This thread would be really interesting to see with ids turned on.
Ryan Hernandez
I'd welcome ids in this shithole. The are few threads with nice discussion featuring anons who know their shit, but the rest is might as well die in a hellfire.
